Churchill Chatter - Issue 17, May 17, 2024

Dear Churchill Road Families,

It has been another busy few weeks as we head toward June.

Our wonderful PTA and families showed their appreciation for all of our staff with breakfast, snacks, a delicious lunch from District Taco, a giving tree and yummy dessert bar.  We cannot thank everyone enough for the kind words and special treats.

Last weekend, our Bobcat Theater students put on an outstanding performance of Annie Jr. at the Alden Theater.  The students shined in their roles, reflecting all their hard work and dedication to making this such a memorable event.   We want to thank our PTA for supporting this wonderful opportunity for our students.  Many parents put in hours of volunteer work to ensure our community had this experience together.

Other activities this week included our kindergarten classes welcoming families for their annual Bagels for Bobcats event.  Our fifth graders enjoyed a trip to the Virginia Science Center in Richmond, in anticipation of their final science SOL next week.  And, our sixth graders traveled to Gettysburg as the culmination of their studies of American history.

Our SOL testing window is nearly complete.  We are so proud of each and every student who displayed their learning in reading and math. More information to come regarding when to expect accessing testing results.

Hope to see many of you at tonight’s Backyard BBQ.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pierson-Barr and Ms. Niccolls

The date for the final Community Conversation is below. These events provide a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect with Dr. Reid, share concerns and ideas. She is there to listen and answer your questions. Your voice is important.

We invite you to register for the last community conversation of the school year.  Pre-registration is not required, but does help us plan.
