Thank you so much to the Clermont PTA and community for the many kind gestures of appreciation this week! The Clermont staff appreciates your partnership and support. From smoothies, to sidewalk art, to an all-staff luncheon (with lots of help from family volunteers) and more, we felt the love all week!
Franconia District Supervisor, Mr. Rodney Lusk, from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, came to visit Clermont Monday morning for our School Wide Morning Meeting! This was a great opportunity for Supervisor Lusk to meet various members of the Clermont team, interact with the students, and see some of the amazing things our students do at Clermont! Supervisor Lusk spent some time doing a Q&A with Mrs. Cox’s 6th grade classroom and sparked their interest in local government. We are very grateful to Supervisor Lusk for making time to visit our awesome Eagles!
Field Day 2024 is approaching! Our date will be Friday, May 31st with a rain date of Friday, June 7th. We would love to have parent volunteers help out with the fun and keep everything organized and running smoothly. Our schedule will be K-2 participating from 9:15 – 11:45 and grades 3-6 participating from 1:15 – 3:45. If you would like to help with one or both of these time slots, please sign up at the link below. Thank you for your help and we can’t wait to have you join in on the fun!

Above, SCA representatives compose chalk messages aimed at fostering acceptance and a sense of belonging. Clermont students demonstrated acceptance and accrued 400 “belonging spots” over the past two months. Incentives included a spirited cheer performed by Mr. Gayl during a school-wide morning meeting, and multiple staff members gracefully roller-skating through the halls. The next step will be a special surprise from Ms. Salata!
Spring Standards of Learning (SOL) testing for grades 3-6 will take place during the month of May. Specific grade level testing dates are below. Though Clermont is filled with exceptional teachers and staff, an award was established in 2008 to recognize an employee who has gone above and beyond for our students. The Miss Mac award is named in memory of Clermont kindergarten aide, Ashley McIntosh. The award recognizes a Clermont staff member who exemplifies the values Miss McIntosh brought to her teaching.
All Clermont teachers and staff who have not won The Miss Mac Award in the last 7 years are eligible for this award. The deadline for nominations is Monday, May 20, 2024.
We will evaluate all the submissions and present the award and a check for $500 to the recipient at the final Clermont Elementary staff meeting of the school year!
