SY 2024-25 Class Assignment Requests
It is hard to believe that we are already planning for next school year! As a continued part of our partnership with families, we extend an invitation to share thoughts for consideration regarding class assignments for next school year. Please note that we cannot guarantee placements based upon considerations. Please do not request a teacher by name.

 BMP families are invited to join us for Family Literacy Night on Thursday, May 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.
 Learn English for work, family, and community. English classes for beginning level adults are given at Annandale Community Center. For more information, call 703-237-0866.
Standards of Learning (SOL) testing are starting next week! The schedule is:
Grade 5 Science Tuesday, May 21
You can help your child prepare for the test by:
Provide a quiet, comfortable place to study at home.
Make sure your child is well-rested the night before the test.
Talk to your child about how your child is feeling about the test.
Encourage and motivate your child to do his or her best!
 BMP Relay Races are coming up on Friday, May 24th at 10:00am.
We are branching out in our critical and creative thinking lessons focus.
What: Fluency, Flexibility, and Originality (Critical and Creative Thinking)
This strategy encourages students to think about many possibilities, of old things, the world around us, and how we can re-think and explore the positive and negative aspects of ideas or activities. This model encourages students to create and engineer “real-world problems” into functional solutions.
At Home Connection: Take a toilet paper role and engineer it into a new object. Take a picture and share it with me at yfwilliams@fcps.edu
Join the fun at this year's International Night. Food, singing, and dancing are all part of our celebration of the many cultures that make up the Bren Mar Park school community. We hope to see you on Friday, May 31 beginning at 6:00 p.m. We encourage all families to bring cool water bottles as most of the event is located outside, on the blacktop near the playgrounds.
 For kids ages 7 -12 with limited swimming opportunities, Fairfax Foxes community is offering free swim clinics. Register by emailing
