The end of the school year brings much to celebrate.
We are so grateful to the PTA and our families for celebrating our staff in April. We are continuing the celebration this week as we recognize the many ways our staff support our students and each other each day.
This year we have two amazing teachers retiring, Mrs. Rumohr and Ms. Linehan, after serving FCPS and Wakefield Forest students for many years.
Our staff actively seek ways to connect with families, building positive partnerships that help students thrive. We also appreciate the ways in which they create a welcoming environment, where parents feel involved in their child's education.
A big THANK YOU to all our amazing teachers and staff! Their hard work, dedication, and connection with your children are truly making a difference.

Students in 4th and 5th grades can apply to be a WFES Safety Patrol for the 2024-2025 school year. Students that are in 5th grade, currently serving as a Safety Patrol, have an option to apply to be an Officer.
Students will learn about the application process during PE Class the week of May 6th-10th. WFES Patrol Co-Sponsors, Ms. Massimo and Ms. Maxwell-Gold, will explain the process, review the qualifications and show students how to apply.
Thursday, May 16th – Patrol and Officer applications will be posted in homeroom teachers Schoology sites.
Wednesday, May 22th – Applications are due. (Late applications will not be accepted.)
Friday, May 31st – Patrol and Officer selections announced (letters will be given to students at the end of the school day).

It is time to start planning for our next school year. Developing class assignments each year is a complex process. School administration, classroom teachers, counselors, special education staff and specialists all have the opportunity to provide feedback on class groupings.
If you have feedback that you would like for us to consider, please add it to this Family Input Form no later than May 17, 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted. We will consider all feedback provided, but we are not always able to fulfill requests.
We respectfully ask that you do not request particular teachers. It is unfair to give special consideration to some families when it would be impossible to grant requests from all families. Please be aware that grade level assignments for staff sometimes change, due to late enrollments or other changes. Staff assignments are determined at the end of the summer.

WFES is proud to have a Green Team committed to doing great work at the school and in the broader community. Our last meeting of the school year will be on May 20th. If you have any questions, contact Mary Muratore at mpmuratore@fcps.edu. |
We invite our former Wakefield Forest Wolves to the Senior Grad Walk on June 5, 2023 at 2:30 PM. Wear your cap and gown and be celebrated by our current Wakefield Forest crew. Please meet us in the new front lobby/main entrance at door #1. Parents are welcome to join us and watch their seniors parade through the school.
(Due to construction, parking can be challenging, so please plan ahead.)
