Good afternoon Stone community,

A Huge Thank You!

I would like to recognize our Stone Middle School families for all you do to support our school community. Stone families really stepped up to make our 2024 Teacher Appreciation Week a huge success! Whether you donated a gift card, food item, or gave a personal gift or note to your student’s teacher, your thoughtfulness is truly appreciated. The teachers at Stone work hard all throughout the school year and your kind gestures go a long way in letting them know just how much we value and appreciate them. I cannot thank you enough for all of your support.

We kick off SOL testing last week with Reading & Math. Students who were absent will be invited to make up testing this week. Some students will be invited to retake as well. We will continue this week with Science 8 SOL testing on Monday & Tuesday. Please partner with us and encourage your student that they can accomplish anything and that includes SOL testing. Let's finish this year strong together!

Let's have a great week Panthers,

Sonya Williams

Principal

music

Stone's Music Department has several events coming up that we wanted to advertise to everyone. Stone music students have been working hard and  would LOVE to share their successes with the community. We’re ‘pop’-ing things up this spring with tunes from your favorite movies and artists like Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mamma Mia, Coldplay, Billie Eilish, and even The Backstreet Boys!

All performances will occur in the Stone MS Gym, dates and times are listed above. The May 14th performance is related to our Spring Trip (which is Friday, May 31st) and will include all of our ensembles directed by special guest clinicians ending in a combined performance of Kenny Loggins’ Danger Zone! We hope to have you join us for some of these performances!

🩹 Required Immunizations for Rising 7th and 12th Graders

Immunizations are required for all students entering 7th and 12th grades this fall. Visit the FCPS immunization webpage to learn about the required vaccines.  Caregivers should ask their private healthcare provider or the health department to review their student's immunization record to ensure that their student has received these required immunizations.

It is important to schedule immunizations early in the summer, as seventh-grade students must submit documentation of the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines before they begin school in August. Twelfth-grade students must submit documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine. Get more information on all student immunization requirements.
