Elections take place on May 16! Don't miss out on your opportunity to contribute to the RCMS community! We are still looking for individuals to fill the following positions:

Recording Secretary - takes minutes at board and association meetings; maintains and preserves PTA records and documents to pass on at the end of term

Financial Assistant - works closely with the treasurer and other financial officers in handling PTA funds; deposits funds in the PTA bank account and reconciles the bank account monthly

Membership Chair - works with the membership committee to create and implement the annual membership campaign; promotes membership throughout the year; provides membership reports at PTA board and association meetings.

Basketball Game Chair - works closely with the RCMS After School Activities Specialist and the LHMS PTA Basketball Chair to plan and execute the annual RCMS vs. LHMS Basketball Game event

STEAM Night Chair - arranges and coordinates a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) event

Teacher Appreciation Week Donations Needed
Let’s celebrate our awesome teachers at Carson! We have several events planned for teachers this year, including an Anita’s breakfast, a gift card raffle, and a sweet treats buffet. Registered students are eligible to win in-school raffle prizes in the weeks leading up to the race. Register today so your child can be eligible to win fun prizes ahead of race day!
The Panther Time classes with the highest number of Panther Prowl registrants will receive a donut party the week after the Prowl. PE teachers also have incentives for registering.

Fundraiser Spirit Night at Chipotle Franklin Farm
Wednesday, May 22nd 4:00-8:00 PM
Take a night off from cooking dinner and join us at Chipotle at 13354 Franklin Farm Rd, Herndon to show your school spirit! Show the Attached Flyer at checkout to ensure RCMS PTA is credited with the sale.
In addition to in-restaurant sales, we are now opening up our fundraisers to online sales as well. For online and Chipotle Rewards app orders, guests can apply the coupon code, “NPDKC7N” in the Coupon Code line at checkout. Ordering online is quick and easy and allows guests to skip the line by grabbing their meal at our Quick Pick-Up station or where pick-up windows are present. Please make sure you are signed into your rewards account to use this code, if you are not already a member, please sign up! This is a great option for guests who prefer to dine at home or on the go but still want to support our organization.
8th Grade Party Date Announced
Parents of all 8th graders, please block your students' calendar for June 7th, 5:30-8pm to attend the 8th Grade Graduation Celebration. The theme this year will be Hawaiian/Luau and the event will be free for all 8th graders. The planning committee is busy putting the details together which involves food, a DJ, and plenty of activities. As we get closer, more details will be provided so be on the lookout for sign-up opportunities to support and chaperone the event.
