Dear McLean HS Parents and PTSA members,

We cordially invite you to attend our next virtual general membership meeting on May 9th at 6pm (details below). During this meeting we will vote on the Nominating Committee. The election of next year's PTSA executive board will take place during the in-person meeting on May 15th at 6pm in the school's Lecture Hall. We need your participation at these meetings.

Additionally, we value your input on some budget changes related to supporting school initiatives. As this is your organization, we count on your opinions to ensure the best use of available resources, which come from your generous contributions and membership fees.

Your voice and involvement are crucial to the success of our PTSA. We look forward to seeing you at the meetings on May 9th and 15th, where together we can shape the future of our organization and support our school community.

Class of 2024 All Night Graduation Party 

Greetings families!! We are actively preparing for the Class of 2024 All Night Graduation Party (ANGP) which will be held on June 4, 2024 at 11 pm at McLean High School. The ANGP provides a safe, alcohol-free and drug-free evening for our Seniors to celebrate after their high school graduation. Every year our students look forward to the ANGP, which is an amazing, fun-filled event where they can spend one last time making memories with their classmates and enjoy a variety of entertainment, games, great food, prizes, and much more. 

 

ANGP Tickets

ANGP tickets are now available. Take advantage of the early bird pricing while you can. The early bird price is $80. Ticket prices will increase as of  May 4, 2024. For all students who purchase their tickets at the early bird price, you will be entered into a raffle.

Yard Signs

Class of 2024 yard signs are now available. This year we are offering two types of signs: (1) Decision signs that will allow you to celebrate your Senior's college/university/military decision and (2) Graduation signs to celebrate your Senior upon graduation in June. The signs range in price from $30 to $40 based on the type of sign. See the link below to purchase and for additional details.  The signs are available for purchase through May 19, 2024

Donation/Fundraising Opportunities

We are actively preparing to create a fun event for Class of 2024 ANGP. We are in need of your support for monetary donations as well as prize and gift card donations for items that will be used as giveaways during the event. We have also partnered with Raise Right which allows families to purchase gift cards for party donations or personal use that will help to raise funds in support of ANGP.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are still in need of volunteers to assist with the planning of the 2024 ANGP. If you are interested in volunteering to assist with planning, email Pamela Williams at angp@mcleanptsa.org. A sign-up genius will be released later in the year for those that can volunteer to assist with the various activities the day of the party (June 4, 2024).

Friday Breakfast Station

The PTSA organizes a weekly Friday Breakfast Station during the year stocked with contributions by fellow McLean HS families. The Friday Breakfast Station is set up in the front office and teachers & staff are grateful each week for your donations. Please click on the link to donate a breakfast item from sign up list. PTSA Appreciates the Administrative Professionals at MHS! 

Last week, the PTSA honored the 12 administrative professionals at McLean High School during Administrative Professionals Appreciation Week by providing a catered lunch. The PTSA, through the Hospitality Committee, supports staff throughout the year by planning appreciation events such as this lunch. Thank you to the administrative professionals of MHS for all that you do for our school!  


AP Testing

AP Testing will take place between May 6-24. Students should arrive at their testing locations by 7:45am for morning AP exams, and by 11:45am for afternoon AP exams. Students must arrange a ride home from school as most afternoon AP exams will conclude between 3:30-4:30PM.

Materials for paper/pencil exams

  • Two #2 pencils and black/dark blue pen
  • A calculator if taking APES, Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Macro, Micro, Physics, Precalculus, or Statistics

Materials for Digital Tests (African Studies, Chinese, CSP, English Lang, English Lit, Seminar, U.S. History, & World History) exams

  • Fully charged FCPS Chromebook and charger
  • College Board login credentials to access Bluebook
  • Two #2 pencils and black/dark blue pen
