Memorial Day serves as a poignant reminder of the profound sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served in the United States military, laying down their lives in defense of freedom and democracy. It is a day of solemn reflection, a time when the nation collectively honors the valor and selflessness of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Fort Belvoir Primary recognizes the significance of Memorial Day not only as a national holiday but also as an opportunity to impart valuable lessons to our students about the importance of service, sacrifice, and remembrance. Through education and reflection, we aim to instill in our students a deep appreciation for the freedoms we all enjoy and the responsibility we all bear to honor and preserve the legacy of those who have given their lives in service to our country.

We extend our support and condolences to members of our school community who have lost loved ones in military service. In recognition of their sacrifice, we invite families to share a photo of their fallen heroes through the provided link HERE.  We will be collecting photos until Friday, May 10th. These photos will be gathered and assembled into a presentation to share on our office monitors with the entire school community. Additionally, we will share them with our school community, offering a moment of collective remembrance and gratitude for the lives that were courageously dedicated to the defense of our country.

Together, we are and will continue to be Fort Belvoir strong!
