Walk, Bike, Roll to School | Wednesday, May 8

To participate in Walk, Bike, Roll to School Day, have your child bike, walk, or ride to school on May 8th under their own power. Stop at the table out front to sign our poster and enter a free gift raffle. Be safe! You can ride on sidewalks, just use care when passing walkers. If you don’t have a safe route, park close and walk/bike/roll the rest.

Questions or need help planning a route? Contact Sasha Hafner

Teacher Appreciation

We think our Sunrise Valley teachers are absolutely SUN-sational! That's why we're treating them to a "fun in the sun" themed week. Join us May 6-10 to provide:

  • Monday: Sidewalk chalk greetings.
  • Tuesday: Rossana Coffee Cabana and morning pastries. Students wear their teacher's favorite color.
  • Wednesday: Fill the lounge with snacks. Students bring a flower in for their teachers.
  • Thursday: Students bring homemade cards for their teachers.
  • Friday: Fiesta Lunch catered by Taco Zocalo.

Sign up here to help at Sunrise, and/or make a financial donation here to cover the cost of the luncheon. Questions? Contact Holly Reynolds.

This year we are also joining other schools to help celebrate the teachers and staff at Dogwood Elementary School (which currently lacks a PTA). Help us provide a breakfast buffet, “afternoon tea” treat bags, and a card-making station in the cafeteria so students can write notes of appreciation to their teachers. Sign up here to help at Dogwood.

Help lead next year's PTA!

Congratulations to Angeline Van Evera and Geetha Estep for being voted Co-Presidents for the 2024-25 PTA. Are you interested in becoming more involved? Join next year's PTA Board and be part of the magic! Three positions are currently open:

  • Recording Secretary (takes notes, posts minutes)
  • Events Chair (recruits volunteers, helps lead PTA events)
  • Fundraising and Giving Chair (supports volunteers who raise money via sponsorships and give back through our community outreach programs)

Nominate yourself here. Board members will be voted on at the May 22 PTA Meeting (9:30 am, cafeteria).

Curious but don't want to commit?  Email Jennifer Glynn to learn more.
