Physical Education News

Last week our mustangs finished up a 3-week long cup stacking unit in which they learned how to properly stack cups in different sets and sequences. Once the students learned how to properly stack, we incorporated fitness and cooperative activities with cup stacking so not only did students have a chance to improve their hand-eye coordination, but they also had a chance to work cooperatively with others and improve their cardiorespiratory endurance and muscular strength/endurance while having a blast.

Currently in P.E. class, students are preparing for our end-of-year events including our annual relay races and field days. More information about these events will be shared in the coming weeks. The dates for these events are listed below.

Relay Races

Friday, May 24th

Field Day (PreK & Multi-Age)

Thursday, May 30th

Field Day (Kindergartern-5th Grade)

Friday, May 31st

Sneaker Reminder

In order for students to safely participate in all our PE activities and to perform to the best of their abilities, we need them to wear sneakers to PE class. Please have your child wear sneakers to school on their PE days or have them bring a pair of sneakers in their backpacks to change into for PE class. A list of class PE days can be found on our BMP PE Twitter page.

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

As we approach the end of the school year, it’s important for students to stay engaged, attend school, and finish strong!

  • Regular school attendance in elementary school improves the chances that your child will read on grade level.
  • Chronic absenteeism (missing 18 or more school days per year) is a primary cause of lower academic achievement even when the absences are "excused" or understandable.
  • Students who attend 90% or more of the school year are more likely to graduate from high school on time.
  • Absences can be a sign that a student is losing interest in school, struggling with school work, dealing with peer conflicts or facing some other potentially serious difficulty, and help is available
PTA Pancake

BMP PTA is hosting Pancake Fundraising on Saturday April 27 from 9:30 - 11:00 am at the BMP cafeteria.
