Cosmetology Helps Students Get Glammed Up for Day Prom!

It was a busy morning in the salon on Wednesday as our Cosmetology 1 and 2 students teamed up to do hair, makeup, and nails for Chantilly Cat B students attending Day Prom.  In addition to offering an opportunity for cross-curricular collaboration, this was a unique occasion for our Cosmetology 1 and 2 students to be able to work together in the salon.  It was an exciting morning getting students red carpet ready!

Chantilly Academy Highlights

Congratulations to our Aerospace Club who competed in the Battle of the Rockets and achieved some very impressive results!

Dental Careers students have been busy in the lab practicing skills and using a variety of dental instruments.

Veterinary Science had their final grooming day of the school year this week.  We have loved welcoming our furry friends to the Academy this year!  A special thank you to Ms. Antonucci, Ms. Spinetto, and our Vet Science students for providing this service to the Chantilly community.

Important Reminders from Chantilly Academy

Testing Season & Academy Attendance 

  • We want to remind families and students that the Chantilly Academy schedule NEVER CHANGES!  If a base school has a modified schedule for testing, we must be notified if your student can’t attend class.  Chantilly Academy is a separate school with separate attendance and, therefore, it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to clear your student from not attending a scheduled class time at Chantilly Academy.
  • All base schools have different schedules for SOL testing.  If your student is taking an SOL test during their academy class time (including travel time), your student needs to be called out.
  • Students that take AP or IB classes can complete a form with a parent/guardian's sign-off to clear them for upcoming testing in May.  If the form is returned to the Chantilly Academy office prior to May 1st, we can pre-clear your students attendance for testing days.  Please have your student check with their academy teacher if this applies.

Last Day for Academy Shuttles

The last day for Chantilly Academy shuttles is Wednesday, June 5th.  All underclassmen from base schools other than Chantilly HS are not expected to attend their academy class periods after that date.  Students should go to their base school library at that time unless directed elsewhere by their administration.
