The Principals' POSITIVE Press

Happy Friday CES Community,

This week the CES staff participated in a POSITIVE Underground Spirit Week was a blast! This consisted of staff dressing towards a certain theme each day hoping to elicit POSITIVE wonder from the students. We were thrilled by all the curious questions from the POSITIVE students. It was a fun week!

Get ready to dive deep into Earth Week! Starting Monday, we'll celebrate our POSITIVE planet with 5 exciting themed days. This time, the POSITIVE students get to be part of the action! Check below for all the details on Earth Week activities.

Our halls were filled with a sea of purple on Wednesday as we celebrated Purple Up! Day with our POSITIVE military-connected families. It was a heartwarming way to show our POSITIVE appreciation for the incredible children of those who serve. Thank you to all the POSITIVE families who came in to celebrate with us! Let's continue to honor these inspiring young heroes throughout the year.

Sixteen POSITIVE CES students wowed the crowds at the Centreville Pyramid Art Show last night! Their POSITIVE artwork was on display, showcasing their incredible talent and creativity. We're so proud of them! A big thank you to Mr. Baybrook and Ms. Burrows for their constant POSITIVE support and encouragement, helping our students explore their artistic potential. On a different note, the POSITIVE Spring Book Fair has come to a close this week. We're grateful to Mrs. Thorne for her dedication in making sure our POSITIVE students have access to a wide variety of books and for fostering a love of reading. Also, thank you to all those families who participated in the POSITIVE CES Book Fair.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener Results Coming Soon

Students in grades 3-12  took the SEL Screener during the month of March, providing updated information on their SEL skills like achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.

In late April, individual student SEL Screener results will be available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be sent via postal mail.

For more information about the screener please visit the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener webpage. For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide or contact your student’s school.
