A Message from
Principal Counts

Greetings Laurel Ridge Families,

This past week has been a whirlwind of excitement at Laurel Ridge.  We witnessed the wonder of the solar eclipse firsthand, and it was truly a moment of awe and learning for our students.  Their curiosity and enthusiasm were contagious, and it served as the perfect reminder of the power of teachable moments.

Today marks a bittersweet occasion, as it is Assistant Principal, Kim Pryor’s last day at Laurel Ridge.  Ms. Pryor’s dedication to our students and staff has been invaluable, and we will certainly miss her presence.  We wish her the best as she begins her new position as Principal in Winchester Public Schools.

Kindergarten and New Student Registration

It is important to us that we know your child is planning to attend Laurel Ridge for the 2024-2025 year. If you have not yet registered your child, we ask that you begin that process as soon as possible as our staffing allocations depend on student numbers. To join us, first determine if your student lives in the Laurel Ridge Elementary School boundary by viewing the FCPS Boundary Locator. If your student does live in our boundary, please contact our Student Information Assistant, Susan Kane, at sikane@fcps.edu to assist you with the registration process and have your child’s name added to the list.
