Track Meet Schedule

• All meets will be from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturdays at different high schools. The meets follow the schedule below:

• • April 13th @ Robinson Secondary 
    • We will meet at Key Middle School to take a bus over. Bus leaves at 7 am.
    • We need a volunteer to help
  • April 20th @ Edison High School
    • We will meet at Key Middle School to take a bus over. Bus leaves at 7:15 am.
    • We need a volunteer to help 
  • April 27th @ West Springfield High School
    • • We will meet at Key Middle School to take a bus over. Bus leaves at 7:00 am.
      • We need a volunteer to help
  • May 11th @ Centreville High School
    • We will meet at Key Middle School to take a bus over. Bus leaves at 6:45 am.
    • We need a volunteer to help.

Middle School Start Times

• ⏰ Community Forums on Middle School Start Times

Fairfax County Public Schools is exploring options for adjusting middle school start times and invites the public to be part of the process. All forums will deliver the same presentation and provide the same feedback opportunities. Please attend the event that works best for your schedule: 

• Monday, April 29, 6-8 p.m., at Glasgow Middle School. 
• Monday, May 6, 6-8 p.m., at Whitman Middle School.
• Monday, May 20, 6-8 p.m., at Hughes Middle School.
• Wednesday, May 22, 6-8 p.m., at Frost Middle School. 

Registration is not required but does help with planning. Click one of the dates above to register. Language interpretation and childcare will be provided. Learn more about the project exploring middle school start times.

Family Summit

Safe, Supported, and Included — the FCPS Family Summit 2024

The FCPS Family Summit will take place on Saturday, April 20, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Marshall High School. The conference will cover topics that are helpful for all families, such as social-emotional resources, along with a specially curated online component to provide supports for students with disabilities and their families. 

Some of the topics include raising resilient, independent children; forming meaningful connections with children; addressing big emotions; and the dangers of opioids and fentanyl. The conference is being planned by several FCPS offices in collaboration with the Fairfax Alliance of Black School Educators, Black Women’s Educational Alliance - DC Chapter, Hispanic Educators Association, and Asian Educators Association. 

This year’s theme is Safe, Supported, and Included, which aligns with Goal 2 of the FCPS Strategic Plan. More details will be available after spring break.

FCPS Family Summit이 4월 20일인 토요일 오전 8시 30분부터 오후 1시까지 Marshall 고등학교에서 진행될 예정입니다. 본 컨퍼런스는 장애 학생과 그 가족을 지원하기 위해 특별히 구성된 온라인 지원과 사회 정서적 자원 등 모든 가족에게 도움이 되는 주제를 다룰 것입니다. 일부 주제에는 회복력이 있는 독립적인 자녀 양육; 어린아이들과의 의미 있는 관계 형성; 큰 감정 다루기; 오피오이드와 펜타닐의 위험성을 이야기할 것입니다. 이 행사는 FCPS와 Fairfax Alliance of Black School Educators, Black Women’s Educational Alliance - DC Chapter, Hispanic Educators Association, and The Asian Educators Association이 함께 협력하여 계획하고 있습니다. 올해의 주제는 FCPS 전략 계획 목표 2에 부합하는 안전, 지원 및 포용과 관련되었습니다. 자세한 내용은 봄방학 이후에 알려드리겠습니다.

VIP Summer Camp

2024 VIP Summer Camp will be held at Sandburg MS July 1^st – August 1^st 2024. Sandburg MS will serve rising 7^th and 8^th grade students from Key MS, Twain MS, Hayfield SS, Sandburg MS, and Whitman MS. Online application will go live Tuesday March 12^th at 6pm. VIP Camp

• ⛱️ Looking for a fun summer camp for your rising middle schooler? Check out VIP Camp, taking place July 1 through August 1 at five FCPS middle schools, and open to all FCPS middle school students. VIP Camp costs only $100 for the 5-week program!Find out more and register soon: bit.ly/VIPcamp2024

• ⛱️ Summer Camp for Middle Schoolers 

All rising middle schoolers are invited to attend a summer of fun and leisure with VIP Camp. VIP Camp — which takes place Monday, July 1, to Thursday, August 1 — is designed to encourage teens to develop healthy and positive recreation interests and features a wide variety of leisure activities and programs. 

Registration is open. VIP Camp costs $100 to attend. Reach out to your school's after-school specialist for scholarship availability due to financial hardship. This camp is sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools and Fairfax County’s Department of Neighborhood and Community Services.

• Korean: ⛱️ 중학생을 위한 페어팩스 여름 캠프

모든 중학생에게 신나는 여름 방학을 보낼 수 있도록 VIP 캠프에 초대합니다. VIP 캠프는— 7월 1일, 월요일부터 8월 1일인 목요일까지 진행됩니다. 청소년들의 건강하고 긍정적인 레크리에이션 관심을 개발할 수 있도록 장려하고 다양한 여가 활동과 프로그램을 제공합니다.

New Tech Support Feature Our tech support reporting system has a new feature allowing students to provide feedback to our tech support team. Most students are using this feature responsibly, but we have seen some examples of students using the feature to make jokes or give negative feedback that is not constructive. Since this is a new feature, we would appreciate your support in encouraging students to use is appropriately and intentionally. Thank you!
