Last week was such a fun week with the solar eclipse and guest scoop night at Bruster’s Ice Cream!! Here’s what’s up next:
- Our school community needs YOU -join the PTA board next year! We are seeking a PTA treasurer for the 2024-2025 school year. Our treasurer helps set the budget, writes reimbursement checks, balances the bank account, cashes checks, and keeps us in compliance with tax forms. A financial background is helpful but not required! If interested, please email president@cpes-pta.org.
- Last call for the Spring Spirit Wear Sale and Tie-Dye Items!! The Spirt Wear Store will close at 11:59pm on Monday, April 15 and will not reopen until the fall. Get your favorite tie-dye items now while they're available (Tie-dye items will not be available after the spring sale).

April PTA Meeting
Our April PTA meeting will be on Tuesday, April 16, 6:30-8pm. This meeting will be in-person. Jenna Mengia, our new Advanced Academics Resource Teacher, will be giving an Overview on the Advanced Academic Services at Cunningham Park. Childcare (with dinner for children) and Spanish translation will be provided. Please contact
president@cpes-pta.org if you need childcare during the meeting.
Spirit Wear Sale:
Last call for the Spring Spirit Wear Sale and Tie-Dye Items!!
The store closes at 11:59pm on April 15 and will not reopen until the fall so be sure to order early!!
A few things to note:
1. There are no returns, refunds, or exchanges
2. The hoodies run small so please size up if you are unsure
3. The adult ladies T-shirts are form fitting so please size up if you want a more relaxed fit
4. Unfortunately, our vendor will NOT offer the tie-dye sweatshirts and T-shirts this fall, so if you want the tie-dye items, you must order them now.
5. Orders will take about 10-15 business days to come in once the store closes.

iCode Parent's Night Out Fundraiser
iCode Vienna (419A Maple Ave E, Vienna, VA 22180) will be hosting a Game Night Fundraiser for CPES on Saturday, April 20. The fee is $30 per student. Drop off your iCoders for three hours of fun while you enjoy a night out! Pizza and drink are included.

Fundraiser to Earn Money While Helping the Environment
Earth Day is April 22! CPES PTA is partnering with Glass Goat Recycling, which provides glass pick-up service to Fairfax County residents, as the country no longer takes glass with recyclables. This service makes it easy and convenient for those who lack the time or means to take their glass to drop-off locations. Glass Goat Recycling is owned and operated entirely by hard-working teens. They give you a free custom bin and send timely text reminders the day before pickup, making it easy! Glass Goat Recycling will give our school a $20 donation for every new customer sign-up. This partnership is a great way to raise funds for Cunningham Park and would help make an impact on recycling more glass in our community. Book Fair Volunteer Co-Coordinator Needed
Do you like books and making children happy? You might be perfect for the Book Fair. We need another volunteer coordinator to help run the Spring and Fall Book Fairs. Help our favorite Librarian, Mrs. Brinkhuis, by creating a signup genius to manage the parent volunteers, setup the books when they arrive, and train new cashiers while the fair is running. Nothing feels better than seeing the joy of every child in the school when they first walk into the book fair. Plus, you get to help your own child pick out a reasonably priced book rather than 300 erasers! Car Magnets:
Six-inch car magnets with our brand-new school logo are available for sale here. Orders will be delivered to your child's teacher and sent home with your child. If you have any questions, please email spiritwear@cpes-pta.org.

- Nuestra comunidad escolar te necesita - sea parte de la directiva de la PTA el próximo año! Estamos buscando un tesorero que sea parte de la PTA para el año escolar 2024-2025. Nuestro tesorero ayuda a establecer el presupuesto, emite cheques de reembolso, equilibra la cuenta bancaria, cobra cheques y nos mantiene cumpliendo con los formularios de impuestos. Tener experiencia financiera es útil, pero no es obligatorio! Si le interesa esta posición, envíe un correo electrónico a president@cpes-pta.org.
- La última oportunidad para comprar ropa de apoyo escuela incluyendo teñido anudado. La Tienda de Ropa de Apoyo Escolar cerrará el lunes, 15 de abril a las 11:59 PM y no reabrirá hasta el otoño. Compre sus cosas teñidas anudados ahora (teñido anudado no estará disponible después esta oferta).
- Acompañarnos a la reunión de PTA presencial el martes, 16 de abril, 6:30-8 PM para aprender sobre los Servicios Académicos Avanzados aquí en Cunningham Park. Venta de Spirit Wear:
¡Buenas noticias! Ya puede hacer pedidos en línea de ropa con la insignia de CPES (Spirit wear)

Se necesita coordinador voluntario para la feria del libro

Necesitamos otro coordinador voluntario para ayudar a organizar las Ferias del Libro de la primavera y otoño. Ayude a nuestra bibliotecaria favorita, la Sra. Brinkhuis, creando un genio de registro para administrar a los padres voluntarios, configurar loslibros cuando lleguen y capacitar a nuevos cajeros mientras se lleva a cabo la feria.
Nada se siente mejor que ver la alegría de todos los niños de la escuela cuando entran por primera vez a la feria del libro. Además, puedes ayudar a tu propio hijo a elegir un libro a un precio razonable en lugar de 300 borradores!
