Give Your Feedback on the Budget

We are now in the middle of the annual budget process, which includes opportunities for you to give feedback:

  • Tuesday, April 16, through Thursday, April 18: The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors conducts public hearings on the county budget. Sign up to speak.  
  • Tuesday, May 7: The County Board of Supervisors adopts its budget, tax rates, and transfer amount to FCPS. 
  • Tuesday, May 14: The School Board holds a public hearing on the FCPS budget.
  • Thursday, May 23: The School Board adopts FCPS’ approved budget.

SOL Spring Schedule

Please see below for the Virginia spring SOL (Standards of Learning) schedule. A passing score is anything between 400-600. Any student who does not pass the SOL and scores in the range of 375-399 will have the opportunity to retake the Math, Reading, and Science SOL.  Retakes will be held from May 28th to 31st.  If you do not want your child to retake an SOL, please reach out to your teacher via email to let them know.

3rd Grade:

  • Reading SOL May 9th
  • Math SOL May 16th

4th Grade:

  • Reading SOL May 9th 
  • Math SOL May 16th 

5th Grade:

  • Reading SOL May 7th
  • Math SOL May 14th
  • Science SOL May 10th 

6th Grade:

✅ School Health Services Satisfaction Survey

The Fairfax County Health Department and FCPS School Health Services invite parents/caregivers to participate in a survey on the level of satisfaction with support provided to your school community by School Health Services. The survey takes about five minutes to complete and is open until Friday, April 26. Your feedback can help to improve school health services.

G4 Museum

Fourth grade students transformed our cafeteria into a museum by sharing their research projects with friends and family.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Immigrant Family Reunification Class

A class will be held online in Spanish for immigrant families looking to reunite during challenging transitions. Saturday classes will be available April 13, 20, or 27, from 9-11:30 a.m. Register online. For more information, please contact Sussy Tomer at setomer@fcps.edu.


Theatre at the Rock Presents A Wrinkle in Time

Theatre at the Rock presents A Wrinkle in Time, based on the classic book by Madeleine L’Engle!  Performances are April 12 at 7:00 p.m., April 13 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and April 14 at 2:00 p.m.  General Admission Tickets are $10 and are available now at https://etix.com/ticket/v/15634/rocky-run-middle-school-theatre?performance_id=88602155&country=US&language=en

Celebrate what makes Brookfield so Special! Delicious Food, Heritage Displays, Store Time and Talent Show!

Informational Flyer will be sent home in Tuesday Folders.


PTA Stock the Lounge

Coffee

Help the PTA stock the staff lounge with coffee and tea supplies. All donations are requested by Thursday, April 18th.

We are looking for the following donations:

  • K-Cups of coffee & tea
  • Individually wrapped tea bags
  • Individual sugars (all types)
  • Flavored Syrups
  • Stirrers
  • Paper hot beverage cups

Please leave donations at the front office or email PTA.Brookfield@gmail.com for pick-up/drop-off information.

Field Day is Monday, April 15th!

Feel free to come and watch!  The schedule is:

3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades - 8:00-10:35 a.m.

1st and 2nd grades - 12:15-2:30 p.m.

*Kindergarten - 1:15-2:25 p.m.
