Military Kids Club Helps Students Bond Over Shared Experiences
Creating connections between students from military families is one of the goals of the Clermont Elementary School Military Kids Club, which boasts 50 members and is in its second year of operation. Read about the club.
During the month of April we will honor our military connected students in the following ways:
- During “Military Monday” news show segments, students will share their thoughts about military life.
- Military connected students will engage in a lesson about the Remarkable Farkle McBride which focuses on GRIT, coping with challenging feelings and flexibility.
- A poster showcasing our students will be on display.
- On Purple Up Day, Wednesday, April 17th, students and staff are encouraged to wear purple. A “clap off” parade will be held honoring military connected students.
- Administration will honor students with a certificate of appreciation.
Please reach out to pmtreger@fcps.edu or tvelishka@fcps.edu with any questions.

The Clermont PTA would like to gauge interest in an international festival scheduled for Friday, May 17th, 5:30-7:30 p.m. It will be a fun and educational experience celebrating the diverse cultural backgrounds that make up our wonderful Clermont Community! There will be opportunities to pre-order food from food trucks for dinner and dessert.
We’re also seeking families to share about their culture. Families can contribute by hosting their own country display table, leading a performance or demonstration, and/or participating in a fashion show. Families can also support the event by volunteering to help with set-up or clean-up.
Please answer a quick 3-minute survey no later than Friday, April 12th. https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7775322/International-Festival-Interest-Survey
We will contact families by email or SignUp Genius for additional details and to confirm participation. Questions can be directed to vpenrichment@clermontpta.org.
Join the Clermont PTA on Tuesday, April 16th at 5:30 pm for their final math night of the year, this time featuring math stations for our 3rd and 4th grade students! Please note that this is not a drop-off event and a parent/guardian will need to stay with their student onsite during the event.
