March Madness...Rose Hill Style!

March Madness

Do you know who Jiji is? Jiji is the famous penguin on ST Math and every March, Mrs. Rubertone, our Math Resource Teacher, facilitates March Madness for all of the classes to complete head-to-head to see who can win the coveted Jiji Trophy. In order to do this, classes need to complete math puzzles and this year, Mrs. Ruthenburg's Kindergarten class took the trophy. Their hard work paid off! Congratulations!

FCPS Family Engagement Survey

Parents/caregivers should have received an email invitation with a unique survey link from K12 Insight on March 3. The subject line was: FCPS Family Engagement Survey. Check your junk mail to see if the survey message landed here.

Here is a general survey link that families can use to take the survey. Thank you!

A note about bringing food to RHES...

Food Allergies

Food allergies are more prevalent than ever and if you are a parent of a child that has one or many food allergies, you trust that the school will keep your child safe. Of course, Rose Hill does their absolute best but this is why we ask parents to make arrangements with the classroom teacher PRIOR to a birthday or other celebration. When food is dropped off without prior notification, we have to take into consideration as to whether or not it has ingredients that might pose a potential hazard to a classmate and then if it does, we do not have a food substitution on-hand so then we run into some students being able to enjoy the treat while others cannot. We share this information so that you know why we ask for food items being brought in to be coordinated and why the office team may ask you if the teacher is aware that the food is coming in. We know that everyone wants to keep our students safe is this is one way we can ensure that that happens!
