Spring Break
March 25-29; Teacher Workdays April 1 & 2
This year, spring break is March 25-29. We will be eager to welcome your children back to school on Wednesday, April 3, after two teacher work days. Student attendance is very important. Every day, our teachers will be teaching, and students will be learning. Studies have shown that just two absences per month can cause students to fall behind. Let’s finish this school year strong!

Tickets are $5 each, and can be purchased via cash, or check payable to Kings Glen ES. There are still a few seats left for tonight and tomorrow's shows. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Family Engagement Survey
The Family Engagement survey is designated to gather data to further inform implementation of the 2023-30 Strategic Plan. It is available in nine language translations (Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashtu, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese). Deadline is Friday, March 22.

Spring pictures were taken on Friday, February 23rd. To view and order photos online, please visit vosphoto.com/underclass. Once prompted for an online code, use your Student ID (your student may also recognize this as their lunch or library number). Lake Braddock Pyramid Art Show
Friday, April 12, 6-8 p.m.
Join us for the Lake Braddock Pyramid Art Show at the LBSS gym on April 12th from 6-8pm to view selected artworks from all our feeder schools including Kings Glen. There will be art, music, food, and much more!

Parent Input for the 2024-2025 School Year
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, our staff collaborates regarding student placements. A variety of factors such as student personalities, friendships, and academic abilities are considered as we create our new classes. Other factors impacting the decision-making process of student class assignments are new student enrollments and teachers moving to a new assignment.
Kings Glen families may assist in this process by sharing insights. Please note the following when providing information. We do not accept requests for specific teachers for the upcoming grade placement. This includes hints that reference specific teachers. We cannot guarantee friend requests nor exceptions for other students whereby there may be a conflict. We do our best to create a positive learning year for your child.
Please provide your input by submitting this form as it will ensure we have your request. Please do not email us additional information. Completion of the form is optional. However, the deadline for any correspondence is May 24 at 4 PM. Thank you for your input.
FCPS Principal Evaluation - Parent/Guardian Feedback Form
Open Monday, March 18 - Friday, April 5
On Monday, March 18, Kings Glen Elementary School parents/guardians were sent an email containing a link to complete the online FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form. This questionnaire is part of the VDOE-mandated Performance Evaluation Program for principals and offers parents/guardians an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various topics related to our school. These topics include how the principal demonstrates/impacts instructional leadership, school climate, management, communication and community relations, culturally responsive and equitable leadership, and professionalism within the school.
The questionnaire will be administered between March 18 and April 5. When you receive an email from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your feedback matters!

PTA Wellness Fair
Thursday, April 11, 6:30-8 p.m.
Planning for our PTA Wellness Fair on April 11th at KP from 6:30-8pm is in full swing - formerly advertised as “PTA Family Fitness Night”, we have rebranded to encompass many more “health” aspects. Come explore the 3 zones (healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy earth), and interact with local community resources for healthier families. All attendees will receive a free gift and have a chance to win prizes; the Judy Makes Juice truck will be onsite offering a variety of juices, smoothies, & healthy food options.
Spiritwear Sale Reopened Until April 21
We have reopened our Spiritwear store until April 21st. Current students can ship to their school for free, or ship to your home (free for orders $50+). Get ready for a new school year now with some fresh spiritwear! (...time to get your KG gear if you’ll be a rising 4th grader!!)
