Flexible on your time? We have volunteer opportunities all the way through May! Sign up for a 30 minute block, an hour, a whole day, or anything in between. Visit our SignUp Genius link to find a slot that fits your schedule!

What you'll do:

  • Help supervise the lunchroom during busy times.
  • Lend a hand opening lunch boxes and packages for younger students.
  • Ensure students are following OC's PAWS Expectations.
  • Assist with cleanup after lunch is finished.

The benefits?

  • See your child's smiling face during their lunch break!
  • Meet other parents and become part of the school community.
  • Make a positive impact on a busy part of the school day.

Together, we can make lunchtime a fun and positive experience for all our students!

Lost & Found - Help Needed!

Our Lost and Found is overflowing with treasures waiting to be reunited with their owners! Lately, there's been a whole bunch of jackets looking for their way back home (we know that spring weather can be tricky!).

Unclaimed Treasure: Any items left behind after Spring Break will set sail on a new adventure and be donated.

The front office is open from 8:00AM-4:00PM. If you're looking for lost items, please stop by school, and check in with the front office.

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

Did you know? Studies have shown that just two absences per month can cause students to fall behind. Let’s finish this school year strong. Visit FCPS’ website for attendance resources

This year, spring break is March 25-29. We will be eager to welcome your children back to school on Wednesday, April 3, after two teacher work days. Student attendance is very important. Every day, our teachers will be teaching, and students will be learning.

Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…

Kindergarten Orientation at Olde Creek ES will be April 2nd at 1:00. This event is for adults only. To register or for any questions, please reach out to Mr. Santos at lisantos@fcps.edu

There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:

  1. Determine eligibility.
  2. Identify your local school.
  3. Gather documents.
  4. Fill out forms.
  5. Schedule an appointment.

After the appointment at the school, the student will be ready for orientation and other introductory events. Read more about the registration process.

Try Online Registration

Parents may register their children online for kindergarten through 12th grade. Learn how to begin the online registration process

When registering, parents will create (or log in to an existing) SIS ParentVUE account. Please note that passwords should be more than 12 characters long. If you have an existing account and your password is shorter, please update it when you log in.

☀️ Safely View the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8

A total solar eclipse will occur on Monday, April 8, and will be viewable, depending on weather, in Fairfax County. The eclipse will begin in our area around 2:04 p.m. and end around 4:32 p.m., with the maximum eclipse occurring around 3:20 p.m.

Because the timing overlaps with dismissal, it is crucial that students understand the importance of safe viewing practices. We encourage families to review these Solar Eclipse Resources, especially the eye safety information. We hope everyone takes the opportunity to learn more about this extraordinary natural phenomenon while prioritizing safe solar viewing.

Purple Up! on April 17 to Support Military Families

Join our community and turn FCPS purple on Purple Up! Day, Wednesday, April 17. Wear purple in recognition of FCPS’ 14,000 enrolled military-connected students. Purple represents military youth because purple combines all the colors of the military branches!

Olde Creek PTA News

PTA Read-a-Thon - March 17-30

Olde Creek is getting a bit...old. As our school ages, there will be a greater need for things like new cafeteria tables, a new sign, and other capital improvements. The OCES PTA will be hosting a read-a-thon fundraiser to help raise money for these capital improvements for the school. In support of Read Across America this month, kids can raise money by reading books and getting per-page pledges or flat donations from family and friends.

Registration: Online only. Registration opens March 8th. A flyer with a QR code and URL was be sent home March 8th. After registering, each child will have their URL and webpage to design and share! Pledges and donations are all done online.

Read-a-thon Dates: March 17-30, 2024. Hopefully, kids will be motivated to read during Spring Break!

Logistics: Kids can update their total pages read online with help from their parents, or they can turn in a "Pages Read" sheet to their teachers on Friday, March 15 and Monday, April 1.

Parents - Use this tracker to write down your child’s reading progress so the PTA can input the information on the website for you. Return to your child’s teacher for credit on the PTA webpage!

Prizes: Classes that raise $500 or more will receive a popsicle party!
