Thank you for a busy and exciting week! We had spring picture day, Pi Day, our first SWAP, and a favorite - the Staff Basketball Game! This week, we look forward to a full week of school before Spring Break.
Parent Reminders:
We are beginning to plan for next year! Please begin the process by indicating if your child/family will be returning to Lemon Road next fall using this link. We also welcome parent input for placements for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Note that we cannot make guarantees but will consider your feedback. This form should be completed by April 26, 2024.
As a reminder, kindergarten registration is now open. Students that turn five prior to September 30, 2024 are eligible to attend kindergarten this fall. Please reach out to our Student Information Assistant, Ms. Vaughn, at dlvaughn@fcps.edu to schedule a registration appointment. Kindergarten Orientation will be held Monday, April 15 at 9:00. You will learn more about the kindergarten curriculum from our staff, and your child will be able to visit classrooms and connect with new friends. We hope to see many new and returning families on April 15!
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Basketball Game this Friday! It was so fun and such a great community event!
Special thanks must go to our staff players, Christophe Vandenbussche, Utpal Shah and Meera Natarajan for organizing the event and to all of our volunteers.
We couldn’t hold events without the teams to plan them and the community supporting them so THANK YOU ALL. If you would like to be a part of planning next year's fun please reach out to us at lemonroadpta@gmail.com!
- The Lemon Road Eco Defense squad and Ms. Busch will be our guest speakers at this months PTA Meeting on March 20th @6:30pm. This meeting will be fully virtual, use this link to join meet.google.com/bwd-kwhc-sxv
Mark your calendars now! The PTA Spring Fair will be on April 20th from 10am-3pm (weather allowing!). More information coming out soon!
Did you know every Lemon Road student is working towards mastery of Portrait of a Graduate (POG) attributes? This year, our goal is that all students will help curate a portfolio of artifacts demonstrating their growth in one or more attributes.
To find out more about the POG attributes, join Lemon Road staff at POG Night on Thursday, April 11 - the theme for the night is "POG Heist". This event will be a fun and interactive way for families to learn about and celebrate the Portrait of a Graduate attributes through games, challenges, and other activities.
This week our community will focus on fairness. Fairness is the product of moral judgment – the process by which people determine what is morally right and what is morally wrong. Moral reasoning has been explored and analyzed in two main traditions: the justice reasoning approach and the care reasoning approach. Individuals with this strength might be described as: Respectful, empathetic, just, evenhanded, principled, and moral.
