Principal's Message

Hello Stone Panther Families,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

We have five more days until spring break and attendance is more important now than ever. This week is also the last week of the 3rd quarter. Please encourage your student to stay after school for Teacher Tuesday to make up any missing assignments and ensure that they are ready for any end of quarter exams.  Due to Spring Break, there will be NO after-school program on Friday, March 22.

Congratulations to our Orchestra, Band & Choir students who all received an excellent or superior rating at their assessment concerts over the past two weekends.

We are excited to host another after school programming event here at Stone on Thursday night. Stone will be hosting our friends from Carson MS on Thursday, March 21 in a best two-out-of-three series of games starting at 6pm.  Admission for the event is $5 and this event is strictly limited to Stone and Carson students, families, and players only.  Bookbags (except those from players) will be prohibited.

Let's have a great week Panthers!

Sonya Williams, Principal

Participate today! Make Your Voice Heard!

Parents/caregivers will receive the FCPS’ Family Engagement Survey Sunday, March 3, from independent research firm K12 Insight. Please participate — your feedback is critical in helping to inform and improve practices to best support our students.

Taking this survey will also help strengthen the partnership between your family and our school. When that partnership is strong, students can experience a range of benefits including improved school readiness, higher student achievement, better social skills and behavior, and an increased likelihood of graduating high school.

The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete and will be available in 10 languages. Please visit the Family Engagement Survey webpage for more information. Your voice matters!

Survey topics include:

  • Welcoming environment
  • Communication
  • Student success
  • Advocacy
  • Family and school partnerships
  • Collaboration with the community to see if FCPS is meeting its goals at the school, region, and division levels

Help us better recognize, understand, respect, and address family strengths and needs in our schools.

TAKE THE SURVEY!
