Good afternoon,
We hope everyone is having a great Spring Break! Prior to Spring Break, our students had a fantastic time participating in various spirit days. Looking ahead, we have some exciting events lined up. We are anticipating our Kindergarten Orientation, where our newest Bears will be welcomed to UMES. Additionally, mark your calendars for our UMES v. CES Staff volleyball game. April is a special month as we celebrate our military-connected families. In honor of the Month of the Military Child, Union Mill students and staff will be participating in “Purple Up!” on Wednesday, April 17th.
As a friendly reminder, classes will resume on Wednesday, April 3rd, after the Spring Break. We look forward to welcoming back our students for the remainder the school year!

Spring Break
Monday, March 25 - Friday, March 29 is Spring Break for FCPS students and staff. We wish our students, teachers, and school-based staff a happy and restful Spring Break! Students will return on Wednesday, April 3rd.
Purple Up! April 17th and Principal's Coffee
We will be hosting our next Principal’s Coffee on Wednesday, April 17th. Any active duty, retired, veteran and military-connected families are encouraged to join their child's classroom morning meeting followed by our Principal's Coffee.
National Autism Acceptance Month
April is National Autism Acceptance Month. The PE Department is excited to host Autism Acceptance stations on Wednesday, April 3, and Thursday, April 4. Parent volunteers would be very helpful in making this a successful event. If you have a day, a morning, an afternoon, or just an hour to supervise a station, please let us know. Below is the schedule of when classes will be participating if you would like to come in with your child's class. Please email Jenny Murray at jbmurray@fcps.edu with any questions. Thank you.

Union Mill Chorus Spring Concert
Alumni Invited!
The Union Mill Chorus is performing their Spring Concert, “Union Mill Goes to the Movies”, on Tuesday, April 30th at 6:00 PM. Any alumni students that are now in Middle or High School are invited to join the chorus for the last song, “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical. Reach out to ecunningham@fcps.edu with any questions.
Save the date! Union Mill’s Kindergarten Orientation for rising Kindergarteners is right around the corner! Join us on Tuesday, April 2 from 2:45 – 3:45 pm. April 2nd is a student holiday for current FCPS students. We are excited to meet our upcoming Kindergarteners.
Our registrar, Stephanie Kohout, is currently accepting registration paperwork. If you have not been in contact with her, please email snkohout@fcps.edu with your child’s date of birth and your address of residence. Stephanie will respond with the registration details and documents necessary to start the process. Please don’t wait until summer to register your kindergarteners.

The April 19th deadline to order a yearbook is rapidly approaching. Don't miss the chance to order a yearbook for your student.
Families may place orders online at www.buytheyearbook.com and enter School ID# 719478. Yearbooks are $15.69 each.
*Families who previously ordered a yearbook will have received a receipt from Yearbooklife.
