The school office will be closed the week of Spring Break, March 25-29, 2024.

- Kiss and ride student remain in the vehicle with their parent/guardian until staff directs them to disembark, starting at 8:50 am
- Parents of students who walk to school or park in the upper deck should remain with their child, at the front door until 8:50 am

A total solar eclipse will occur on Monday, April 8, and will be viewable, depending on weather, in Fairfax County. The eclipse will begin in our area around 2:04 p.m. and end around 4:32 p.m., with the maximum eclipse occurring around 3:20 p.m.
Because the timing overlaps with dismissal, it is crucial that students understand the importance of safe viewing practices. We encourage families to review these Solar Eclipse Resources, especially the eye safety information. We hope everyone takes the opportunity to learn more about this extraordinary natural phenomenon while prioritizing safe solar viewing.
Powell's Spring Book Fair with Bookworm Central will be held April 15th through the 19th. We are partnering with the Art department's Spring show. If you would like to volunteer for the book fair please fill out this Google Form: https://forms.gle/FrYVgFgRBL8KHLhU8

This session will help parents understand POG and the important work we are doing with all students at Powell to ensure students are reflecting on their growth toward grade-level expectations for POG outcomes.
This information session will be held immediately before the March PTA meeting. If available, all attendees are invited to remain online for the PTA meeting immediately following the presentation by the guest speaker.
