Please join us for our next PTSA Town Hall featuring a special presentation by YVETTE MITCHELL, LCSW, on strategies on how to help your teen(s) cultivate health relationships!
In today's complex world, navigating relationships can be challenging, especially for teenagers. As parents, guardians, or mentors, it's essential to equip teens with the tools they need to build healthy, fulfilling connections. Yvette's presentation, "Relationship Blueprints: Strategies to Help Your Teen Cultivate Healthy Relationships," is designed to empower adults with practical guidance and actionable insights.
In our meeting, we will explore various strategies that support teens in fostering positive relationships. From effective communication techniques to boundary-setting, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the key elements that contribute to healthy relationships.
Yvette Mitchell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 20 years of experience within the mental health field. She is the owner of Canary Collaborative, a psychotherapy private practice in the DC metro area. You can find more information at www.canarycollaborative.org.

JUSTICE COMMUNITY WORKING GROUP
On August 2, 2022, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the FCPS renovation/rezoning plan for Justice High School with contingencies, including Proffer 7. Proffer 7 requires Fairfax County Public Schools to convene a committee of Justice High School Pyramid community stakeholders to address solutions related to items including parking, safety, traffic, transportation, facilities, et al. The committee was convened by the Mason District School Board representative, Dr. Ricardy Anderson, and the Office of the Mason District Supervisor, then Penny Gross, in May of 2023. Since then, the Justice High School Pyramid Community Working Group has been meeting monthly to address and consider a broad range of options and whose work includes the development of a survey that will be distributed to students, staff, and community in the Spring of 2024.

FCPS FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SURVEY
The bi-annual FCPS Family Engagement Survey is currently being administered and is a great opportunity for you to let FCPS know how our schools can best serve your family. The survey only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. It can be taken from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. If you need to step away before you can complete the survey, click the “Save and continue later” button at the bottom of the page. If you have children in more than one school, you will be able to take the survey for additional schools at the completion of the survey. All responses are confidential. Reports will only share the overall results and will not identify individuals. This input is critical to the future success of each and every FCPS student. A final report will be shared with the FCPS community and feedback will be used to make meaningful improvements in our schools.
