Franklin Sherman Flash - March 18

Principal's Message

Dear Franklin Sherman Elementary School Community,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to share some exciting updates and highlights from this past week.

Firstly, I want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for organizing and hosting an amazing Pi Night. The event was a tremendous success, and we are incredibly grateful for our strong and supportive PTA members who worked tirelessly to make Pi Night such a memorable experience for everyone involved. It was truly heartwarming to witness the creativity and enthusiasm displayed at the various stations, from the large dice activities to the engaging workouts and the adorable panda plates, among others. I am thrilled to announce that the winner of the Pi memorization contest managed to recall an impressive 72 digits of Pi! This was such a great new tradition for us at Franklin Sherman and as always I welcome new ideas that bring our school community together.

Additionally, this week we had the pleasure of showcasing our students' artistic talents at the McLean Art Show. The dedication and hard work that our students put into their artwork were evident in the stunning pieces that were on display. It was a joy to see our students' creativity and artistic expression come to life, and I want to commend all the participants for their outstanding contributions to the art show. Thank you also to Ms. Eaton for inspiring our students' creativity!

As we continue to celebrate our students' achievements and foster a vibrant learning environment at Franklin Sherman, I want to express my gratitude to our entire school community for your ongoing support and dedication. As we approach spring break, we will end this week with Mr. Ralston and myself dressed as the Positive Pandas and handing out this month's kindness recognition.

Thank you once again for your partnership, and I hope you all have a wonderful school week and restful spring break.

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!

After spring break we will be eager to welcome your children back to school on Wednesday, April 3, after two teacher work days. Student attendance is very important. Every day, our teachers will be teaching, and students will be learning. Studies have shown that just two absences per month can cause students to fall behind. Let’s finish this school year strong. Visit FCPS’ website for attendance resources.
