Weekly update for March 15, 2024

Dear CES friends and families:

It has been another great week at Columbia! As you can see above, our 3rd graders ventured on a field trip earlier this week for hands-on learning in science with engaging real-world lessons on the water cycle and soil. We are excited that students at CES continue to engage in learning experiences that help them communicate, collaborate, and think critically about their impact on the world around them.

It is hard to believe that we only have one more week until Spring Break! We are excited to be hosting our Spring Book Fair next week to send us off to spring break. There are still opportunity available to help volunteer to support the book fair, please email Ms. Papas at mopapas@fcps.edu if you are available/interested.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Take care,

Lost and Found - Items to be donated 3/22/24

As we have warmer weather upon us and a large number of items in our "Lost and Found" closet, we are asking parents/families to pickup any jackets, gloves, hats, or other items that may be in the "Lost and Found" before we donate items during spring break.

If you think your student(s) may have an item in that area, please make sure to check before March 22nd.

Please come to the main office prior to looking through the "Lost and Found" items.

Kindergarten Orientation and Registration

📅CES Kindergarten Orientation will be on April 2nd at 3 p.m.

🧸 Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…

There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:

  1. Determine eligibility.
  2. Identify your local school.
  3. Gather documents.
  4. Fill out forms.
  5. Schedule an appointment.

After the appointment at the school (the student and one caregiver must be present), the student will be ready for orientation, Bridge to Kindergarten, or any other introductory events each school may host. Read more about the registration process.

Springs Clubs Registration Starts Next Week

Spring Clubs registration is almost here! There will be three clubs offered this spring, Basketball and Soccer Club organized by the Players Sports Academy and the PTA and STEAM Club organized and hosted by CES. Spring club information and registration will be sent home in Tuesday Folders on Tuesday, March 19th.
