LRES Community News 3.10.24

Message from Mrs. Castillo

Stuart Gibbs

Our 3rd through 6th graders enjoyed listening and learning about author, Stuart Gibbs.  Thanks to the PTA and Gabby Burke, our librarian for supporting this fantastic opportunity for our students - they loved it!  Not only did Stuart Gibbs present to the students, he also met with our SCA Officers and Student Ambassadors in the library.

This week, writers in Mrs. Roman's Kindergarten Class shared their recent work with their grown ups.  It was wonderful to hear and see their hard work!

FCPS’ Family Engagement Survey is now open. Parents received an emailed link on March 3 and March 6. Please participate! Positivity Project: Identifying and Appreciating the Good in Others

Appreciate

This week, our students and staff will take time to identify and appreciate the good in others - a core element of the Other People Mindset. Often, it’s easier to blame others for our problems or find flaws in others to use as excuses for our own jealousy, or resentment. The problem is that this negativity usually leads to problems for ourselves. To see the good in others, we must first slow down and take the time to pay attention and look for the intentions behind people’s words and actions.
