Rising 8th grade Course Request Confirmation (Parent Action Requested)

Cooper school counselors have concluded one-on-one meetings with 7th grade students to provide academic advising.  Please review your child’s course requests in SIS ParentVUE (directions below) or ask your child to show you their course requests in SIS StudentVUE.

 SIS ParentVUE Directions:

  • Log into SIS ParentVUE and select “Course Request” in the left side bar.  The screen has 2 parts: Selected Course Requests and Alternate Elective Requests.  Click the blue arrow to the left of the Course Title to see the course description.
  • Please note this list is not a schedule, but a confirmation of the courses requested and entered into SIS.
  • Cooper’s 2024-2025 school year staffing is based on students’ course selections and your child’s selections represent a firm commitment.

Thank you for your support during this important process.  We appreciate you discussing your child’s course selections to ensure they have selected courses that align with their interests, career goals, and postsecondary aspirations.

Attention Parents of 8th Graders!

We are in need of parent volunteers to chaperone the annual “Finance Park” field trip. This will be a fun and interactive day with the objective of teaching students real-world personal finance and budgeting skills! Please reach out to your child’s Civics teacher at the email address below if you are available and interested! Each teacher will take their students on a different day:

Thank you for your help!

National School Social Worker Week

March 3-9 is National School Social Work Week. Social workers in FCPS help to prevent social, emotional, and behavioral factors from affecting a student's ability to perform at their best. Their primary goal is to remove barriers that prevent a student from fulfilling their academic potential. Social workers are assigned to every school and center in the school system. Most social workers serve one to two sites. Learn more about the role of social workers in FCPS.

Cooper MS is fortunate to have Ms. Kaelyn Serrao to provide support and connections with our students.
