The Kings Jesters will be performing the musical The Descendants on Tuesday March 19, Wednesday March 20 and Thursday, March 21! Tickets are $5 each, and can be purchased via MySchoolBucks (Kings Glen students only), cash, or check payable to Kings Glen ES. If paying by cash/check, please place in envelope with your student's name and teacher. Seating is limited, so be sure to get your tickets soon!

FCPS Principal Evaluation - Parent/Guardian Feedback Form
Open Monday, March 18 - Friday, April 5
On Monday, March 18, Kings Glen Elementary School parents/guardians will be sent an email containing a link to complete the online FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form. This questionnaire is part of the VDOE-mandated Performance Evaluation Program for principals and offers parents/guardians an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various topics related to our school. These topics include how the principal demonstrates/impacts instructional leadership, school climate, management, communication and community relations, culturally responsive and equitable leadership, and professionalism within the school.
The questionnaire will be administered between March 18 and April 5. When you receive an email from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your feedback matters!

AAP News
Families, please find attached the Advanced Academics Program (AAP) Spring Newsletter, with information about screening for Subject Specific (Level II), Part-Time (Level III), and Full-Time (Level IV) Services as well as an overview of the continuum of Advanced Academic services in FCPS. Purple Up! on April 17 to Support Military Families
Join our community and turn FCPS purple on Purple Up! Day, Wednesday, April 17. Wear purple in recognition of FCPS’ 14,000 enrolled military-connected students.
Purple Up! T-shirts are available for purchase through Friday, March 8.

Elementary Institute for the Arts
Deadline Tuesday, April 30th
Students in all FCPS schools can enroll in the Elementary Institute for the Arts. IFTA is a weekly Arts enrichment program for students in rising 3rd through 6th grades during the month of July. Students take classes in Art, Music, Theatre, and Dance every day. Transportation is provided from around the county. Tuition assistance is available for students who qualify. Learn About Science, Technology, and Arts Magnet Schools
Three FCPS elementary magnet schools provide programs that enhance learning in science, technology, and performing arts.
If you are interested in sending your student to an elementary magnet school program, consider attending a school-based information night at Hunters Woods Elementary School, Bailey’s Primary Elementary School, or Bailey’s Upper Elementary School.
Information nights will provide an opportunity to learn about individual school programs, student eligibility, the lottery process, and transportation.
Registration for the 2024-25 elementary magnet lottery is open Tuesday, March 5, through Friday, April 12. Get more information about the schools, their programs, and locations.
Spring Sports Kickoff at LBSS
Tuesday, March 12, 5-7 p.m.
The LB Athletic Leadership class is hosting a Spring Sports Kickoff on March 12 from 5-7PM on the blacktop. The event is FREE to everyone. There will be food trucks and some small side games for students to participate in (corn hole, kan jam, video games, etc.). (View Flyer)

There will be FREE ENTRY for elementary students wearing school spiritwear; adults pay $5 entry to go to any of the 5 varsity games listed above.

Thank you to Erin Farrell-Kendrick, Meghan Walker, and Yaisiel Torres who were elected at our PTA GMM last week to be on the nominating committee for the 2024-25 PTA Board. During the meeting, we also voted to amend our budget, given our huge fundraising success.
