It was a morning of joy as we welcomed rising Kindergartners and families to Kindergarten Orientation.
Thank you to all of the families who joined us for Kindergarten Orientation this morning. We are honored to continuing building the foundation of love and learning that you have fostered at home. We shared lots of information with you this morning. Slides are on our website for you.
Attendance Matters at Dranesville
|
|
Over the past two weeks, there have been multiple days that entire grade levels have been present. We challenged each grade level to be 100% present on Monday, March 4th. Mrs. Gadley was prepared for a sweet Pie the Principal celebration. |
While we didn't have 100% at any grade level, our attendance was excellent! Fourth grade was so close to 100%, with one student absent. Sixth graders had a strong and joyful presence, with only three students absent.
We are going to give our Dragons another chance for this sweet attendance celebration. Grade levels with 100% attendance on Friday, March 22nd will be part of a Pie the Principal event.

Look for the FCPS Family Engagement Survey from K12 Insight
Parents/caregivers received the FCPS’ Family Engagement Survey Sunday, March 3, from independent research firm K12 Insight.
Please participate — your feedback is critical in helping to inform and improve practices to best support our students.
Taking this survey will also help strengthen the partnership between your family and Dranesville Elementary School. When that partnership is strong, students can experience a range of benefits including improved school readiness, higher student achievement, better social skills and behavior, and an increased likelihood of graduating high school.
The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete and will be available in 10 languages.
Please visit the Family Engagement Survey webpage for more information.
Dranesville Elementary is excited to launch our brand-new Best Buddies program! The Best Buddies Elementary Program provides the opportunity for students to learn about disability awareness, develop leadership skills and form impactful friendships with peers of all abilities.
The elementary program is open to students in grades K-6, with and without disabilities. The goal of the program is to teach acceptance, value, and inclusion! As a program launch, our Best Buddies will have the opportunity to participate in the Special Olympics at Madison High School on April 19th.
