Notes from the Administration

Dear North Springfield Community,

Will March roll in like a lion or a lamb?  All the warm weather in February has made recess a sunshine break and everyone gets to load up on vitamin D and given the stomach bugs that have been going around a little extra vitamin D can' hurt.  Please remember that if your student is running a fever please keep them home to rest.  We want our students here healthy and ready to learn and have fun.

We are at that time of year when we start looking and planning all the end-of- year fun, the staff is really looking forward to May and June and all the special events that go on during those last couple months of school.  Tonight is BINGO Night, we hope to see you there.

Thank you for all your support,

Chad McRae and Kevin Sami, Administrative Team

North Springfield Recognized as a Common Sense School

North Springfield is a Common Sense School!

We are excited to announce NSES has been recognized as a Common Sense School for the 2023-2024 school year! This distinction was earned because of our commitment to teaching students how to use technology safely and responsibly. Throughout the year, classes have had lessons and conversations to support digital citizenship competencies including media balance, online privacy, digital footprint, and communication. We have also sent home resources in Thursday Folders to support families with conversations about digital citizenship at home. We are committed to continuing this work and thank you for partnering with us to support digital citizenship in our school community!

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees, specifically at North Springfield ES.

Transported After School Program - Our After School Program (AMP) is the perfect alternative to SACC/Daycare.  Your child will get a daily Taekwondo class, snack and quiet/homework time.  So a child should have gotten a good workout and their homework done when you pick up so you can enjoy the rest of your evening together.
