Spring Hill ES Panther Press

A Note from Principal Briggs

Dear Panther Families,

As we turn the page to March, we can feel the promise of spring in the air. With longer days approaching, it's a wonderful time to celebrate new beginnings and exciting school events. I had the privilege of seeing our inspiring young artists work displayed at the McLean Community Center on Thursday. The Langley Pyramid art show has beautiful drawings, paintings, photography, and objects displayed through the month of March!

Another exciting event we are gearing up for is our annual Fun Fair! This is event is one our students remember throughout their lives. Please sign up to volunteer if you are able. This event cannot run without your help!

As a reminder, students do not have school on Tuesday, March 5th due to voting for the Primary election.

Sincerely,

Amy Briggs

LightSpeed Technology

As part of our commitment to creating a safe and focused learning environment for your children, we are excited to introduce a new tool that our teachers now have access to.

Lightspeed Software is designed to empower both teachers and students in the digital learning landscape. One of its key features is the ability for teachers to actively monitor student activity on laptops from their computer screens, fostering an environment that encourages focus and on-task behavior while teachers work with students in small groups.

We understand the importance of balancing technology in education with maintaining a focused and secure learning environment. Lightspeed Software is designed with these considerations in mind, and it will contribute significantly to the overall success of our students.

We also want to inform you that students will only be monitored during school hours. The regular filters remain in place on school devices, but once they are home, teachers cannot monitor your child’s activity. As parents, you are welcome to sign up for your own Lightspeed reports, which will allow you to see how your child is spending time on the computer.
