Dear Mighty Red Bird Families,
It's been an awesome week of learning here at Cardinal Forest! Our dedicated 3rd and 4th grade teachers engaged in their second round of a valuable hands-on professional development experience known as a labsite, which was focused on rich math tasks. We'd like shout out our awesome teachers for their engagement and thank our Math Resource Teacher Ms. Barry for her support in bringing labsites to our school!

The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Cardinal Forest Elementary March 15th-20th in the CFES Library.

The easiest payment method for the book fair is the eWallet option through Scholastic. Children can pay for their purchases on preloaded accounts set up by their caregivers.

Annual PTA Home Reading Challenge Bingo, Friday 3/1 to Friday 3/8 : Be on the lookout in this week’s Tuesday Folders for the PTA Home Reading Challenge Bingo Card. In honor of National Reading Month, enjoy a variety of reading challenges, and complete 5 spaces vertically, horizontally, diagonally, or for a bigger optional challenge….complete the whole card. Turn it in at the Reading Under the Stars event on Friday 3/8 from 6-8pm and receive a prize. Happy Reading!

PTA Reading Under the Stars Event, Friday 3/ 8 from 6-8pm in the CFES Gymnasium. In honor of National Reading Month, please join us for a magical celebration of books and literacy, featuring children’s authors, a book raffle, special community readers, storybook characters, a free-used book store, craft tables and more! Virtual PTA Meeting, Wednesday 3/13 at 7pm. Please join us for this important general meeting, where two presentations will be given on potential school enhancements related to recent fundraising. These will include presentations from our CFES Librarian, Ms. Hawk, about proposed library enhancements, and from two PTA parents about proposed playground shade enhancements. Our PTA Treasurer will also review the current budget and funds available for PTA programs and potential enhancements. You must register to receive the Zoom link to attend.

Scholastic Book Fair Volunteer Sign-up, Friday 3/15 in CFES Library. The Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled from Friday, March 15th to Wednesday, March 20th. Our CFES Librarian, Ms. Hawk, would love to count on your support for one of the shifts listed below. Volunteers will assist students during the school day with book selections and with book sales. There are also shifts available for Tuesday, March 19th during afternoon/evening hours for families to come to school to shop for books.
