Welcome Mrs. Jennifer Amato, our Dean of Students long-term sub! While Ms. Kobylski is out on maternity leave, Ms. Amato will be filling in for her around the building.
Welcome back Mr. Chris Latham! We are excited to announce that Mr. Latham will be returning to Groveton ES on Monday February 26th, after supporting Belle View ES for the last few weeks.
Kindergarten Orientation for student enrolling for the 2024-2025 school year will be on Tuesday April 2, 2024. More information to come.
Kindergarten Registration will begin on Monday March 4, 2024. Registration will be by appointment only with our Student Information Assistant, Ms. Evelyn Merino. Appointments can be made by calling our main office at 703-718-8000 or email Ms. Merino at ejmerino@fcps.edu.
We hope to see you this week at Parent Academy! This special edition of the Groveton Parent Academy will meet at the Murraygate Boys and Girls Club. Our session topic will be a review of our las two sessions covering Assessments and Special Education Services. All Groveton families are welcome to attend!

We had multiple fourth grade classes participate in the Virginia History Day last week and five of our students will be moving on to Regionals on March 2, 2024.
FCPS is partnering with independent research firm K12 Insight to administer a Family Engagement Survey, which will be open from Sunday, March 3, to Friday, March 22. Your feedback is critical in helping FCPS to better recognize, understand, respect, and address family strengths and needs throughout the district. Survey topics include:
- Welcoming environment
- Communication
- Student success
- Advocacy
- Family and school partnerships
- Community partnerships
The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
Parents/caregivers will receive the survey link via email from K12 Insight. A public link will also be posted on FCPS’ website. Paper surveys will be available in our front office. Please stay tuned for more information.

FCPS will be conducting voluntary, anonymous surveys on the use of Schoology from Monday, March 11, to Friday, March 22. Surveys will be delivered to:
- Elementary students (grades 3-6) through the Schoology App Center.
- Secondary students via email from Naviance.
Student feedback will inform the school division’s use of Schoology and help improve its processes, communication, and professional learning for staff. FCPS’ Instructional Services Department will also be reaching out to families through focus groups.
