 Public Schools Week is an annual celebration that brings together school leaders, educators, parents & community leaders to recognize the importance of our nation’s public schools. FCPS is partnering with independent research firm K12 Insight to administer a Family Engagement Survey, which will be open from Sunday, March 3, to Friday, March 22. Your feedback is critical in helping FCPS to better recognize, understand, respect, and address family strengths and needs throughout the district. Survey topics include:
- Welcoming environment
- Communication
- Student success
- Advocacy
- Family and school partnerships
- Community partnerships
The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
Parents/caregivers will receive the survey link via email from K12 Insight. A public link will also be posted on FCPS’ website. Paper surveys will be available in our front office. Please stay tuned for more information.

Hiring Classroom Monitors - Please Join Our Team!
Terra Centre is looking for additional classroom monitors! Our monitors work hourly and support a variety of essential school-based operations. Monitor duties include supervision of students in the classroom, at recess, and in the cafeteria as well as materials preparation.
If you are interested, please email Melanie Jewell at mcjewell@fcps.edu. The monitor position is paid at an hourly rate of $16.36 per hour and while there are more crucial times of day, flexible schedules are possible. Thank you for considering joining our Terra Centre team!
Do You Have A Rising Kindergartner For 2024 - 2025?
Kindergarten registration information is available on the Terra Centre website and the FCPS website. FCPS online registration for the 24-25 school year should be available in March. If you would like to register in person, please contact our registrar, Dee Cunningham at dmcunningham@fcps.edu or 703-249-1400.
If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2024, please complete the Survey of Preschool Children and return it to the office or your child’s teacher. Paper copies of the form will be sent home with students next week.
If you have a neighbor or friend for whom this applies, please share this information with them or ask them to call Terra Centre at 703-249-1400. Your assistance with identifying our incoming Kindergarten class is greatly appreciated.
