Principal's Message

Dear Eagle View Community,

It's hard to believe that we are already approaching mid-third quarter! We would like to express our gratitude to the many parents who have been making a concerted effort to ensure that their children arrive at school on time. While we appreciate your dedication, we have observed an improvement in tardiness, and we thank you for your ongoing efforts to address this issue.

At Eagle View, we remain committed to reducing chronic absenteeism, and we kindly request that you refrain from planning extended family trips during the school year, as these can impact your child's academic progress.

A friendly reminder that March 5th is a student holiday as our school will be utilized as a polling site for primary elections. Additionally, for parents with rising Kindergarteners, we have scheduled a Kindergarten orientation on April 2nd. If you have a child entering Kindergarten or know of a neighbor with a rising Kindergartener, please reach out to Mrs. Baker to facilitate the registration process.

Exciting events are on the horizon at Eagle View! First up is the Music and Arts Night on March 6th, followed by our first Cultural Night on April 12th. Please mark these dates on your calendar, and we look forward to connecting with you during these enriching experiences.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and unwavering support in helping our eagles soar to new heights!

Warm regards,

KJ An

Principal

Family Engagement Survey to Open March 3

FCPS is partnering with independent research firm K12 Insight to administer a Family Engagement Survey, which will be open from Sunday, March 3, to Friday, March 22. Your feedback is critical in helping FCPS to better recognize, understand, respect, and address family strengths and needs throughout the district. Survey topics include:

  • Welcoming environment
  • Communication
  • Student success
  • Advocacy
  • Family and school partnerships
  • Community partnerships

The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.

Parents/caregivers will receive the survey link via email from K12 Insight. A public link will also be posted on FCPS’ website. Paper surveys will be available in our front office. Please stay tuned for more information.

💭 Share Your Thoughts on Schoology

FCPS will be conducting voluntary, anonymous surveys on the use of Schoology from Monday, March 11, to Friday, March 22. Surveys will be delivered to:

  • Elementary students (grades 3-6) through the Schoology App Center.
  • Secondary students via email from Naviance.

Student feedback will inform the school division’s use of Schoology and help improve its processes, communication, and professional learning for staff. FCPS’ Instructional Services Department will also be reaching out to families through focus groups.

Please contact Schoology@fcps.edu if you have questions.
