Good afternoon, Franklin Community,

It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up the month of February next week!  Related to that, we are officially at the halfway point of the 3rd quarter.  This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the coming days to review current grades in StudentVue/ParentVue and ensure your child is on track to successfully completing the quarter.  As a reminder, teachers have office hours every week during Falcon Time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Additionally, homework club is a regular part of our after-school program and students can make appointments to stay after with teachers.

Next week our assistant principals will be meeting with all students for a midyear Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) review.  This is an opportunity for us to review behavioral expectations, specifically those outlined in our Falcons CARE matrix.  As you review your child’s grades with them, I ask you also review their attendance with them, including any class tardies.  While we understand there are inevitably times when a student is late to a class, we do have concerns if a student is coming consistently late to a class and missing valuable instructional time.  We appreciate your support in reminding your child of the importance of coming to class on time.

Lastly, I would like to officially welcome our new administrative assistant, Ms. Cindy Horan, to the Franklin Community!  Cindy’s first day with us was Tuesday and she has done an amazing job transitioning into this new role.  I look forward to you having the chance to connect with her sometime in the near future.

I wish you a wonderful weekend and, as always, please reach out to me at MLCase@fcps.edu with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Michelle Case

Interim Principal
