Floris Families,

Daylight Saving Time has begun, and the official start of spring is next Tuesday. We have had some beautiful spring weather this week.

Thank you Floris PTA for the goodies on Pi Day (3.14). All of the pies (including the pizza pies) were appreciated.

Next week is the last week of school before spring break and a busy one here at Floris.

  • Spring Photos (class and individual) are next Tuesday. You can order online at My Lifetouch using the Picture Day ID: EVTBHB6R2.
  • Our amazing counselors, Sarah de Kramer and James Duffield, have created Career Day activities and speakers for our students.
  • The March PTA meeting and Science Fair are next Wednesday evening starting at 6:00pm for PTA and 6:30pm for the Science Fair.
  •  Friday is the end of the 3rd quarter.

Please continue to remind your neighbors living in the Floris boundaries, who have children turning 5 by September 30, 2024, to register for Kindergarten. We receive our staffing based on the number of registered students.

Have a wonderful weekend!

PTA International Night

PTA International Night

The Floris PTA is thrilled to invite all of our students and families to participate once again in International Night which will take place in the Floris Cafeteria the evening of Wednesday, April 17.  More details will be forthcoming!

International Night is a celebration of the diversity of our students and families from different parts of the world. It's an event that will showcase many different countries and allow all of our families the opportunity to learn about new cultures and traditions.

Last year we had 13 different countries represented and we are currently looking for parents to volunteer to host a country of their choice this year!  Each country will be able to bring items to decorate their table and can offer things like traditional cultural items, food, etc.  We are able to accommodate 2 families hosting each table/country.

If you would like to volunteer to host a country, please contact

Silvia.yona.22@gmail.com by March 15.  Thank you!

✅ Take the Family Engagement Survey!

FCPS’ Family Engagement Survey is now open. Survey partner K12 Insight emailed a link to families on March 3 and again on March 6. Please participate! Your feedback is critical in helping to inform and improve FCPS practices to best support our students.

The survey is available in 10 languages. Parents/caregivers may stop by the front office to fill out a paper survey or complete the survey online. Please check your email for the survey invitation or use this survey link. Get more information on the Family Engagement Survey webpage
