Let Me Run Coaches Needed!

The PTA is looking to put together a boy's running club this spring! We need coaches to help make this program a success or we cannot offer it this spring! Want to help? Email us ptabushhillelementary@gmail.com.

Staff Appreciation Week

Planning for Staff Appreciation Week is underway! If you are interested in being a part of the planning committee, please email us at ptabushhillelementary@gmail.com.

Dropoff and Pickup Assistance

The PTA is looking to assist our school by increasing adult presence during morning dropoff and afternoon pickup from the campus.  We will potentially model our efforts after the national program Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students), but adapted for our community.

Anyone interested in and available for this effort, please email ptabushhillelementary@gmail.com.

Become a PTA Member Today!

It's easy! Click here: Join_PTA

  • Why join? Membership helps support our students and staff! The PTA helps plan fun activities for our school community (for staff and students), plans fundraisers, and supports the purchase of new materials and items for school improvements.

Ideas, thoughts, questions; want to volunteer or assist? We take donations via Givebacks and always need help from volunteers! https://bushhill.memberhub.com/store?limit=21&live=true

P.E. News

In March, our P.E. classes will be focusing on bike safety. Some students will have the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike, while others will learn about important bike safety practices while building on their bike riding skills.  If students ride their bikes to and from school, they can use their own bikes for this unit.  Students are encouraged to bring in their own bike helmets, if they have them, to use on their designated P.E. days. This will ensure a comfortable and properly fitted helmet.  For students borrowing a helmet from the school, they will need to wear the required hair caps during the unit to maintain hygiene standards. Don't worry! Our helmets will be cleaned after each use.  If preferred, students may bring in a baseball hat or bandana from home to wear under the borrowed helmet instead of a hair cap.  Students must wear close-toed shoes to participate in the bike unit.  No crocs or sandals are allowed.  This unit will take place outside and students will be going out unless it is raining.  The morning classes could get chilly, please dress appropriately!

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!  Thank you for your partnership!

  • Community partnerships

The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.

Student Holiday March 5th

📅 Calendar Reminder: March 5 Presidential Primary — Student Holiday/School Planning Day

The Fairfax Board of Elections requested that schools be closed on Tuesday, March 5, to accommodate the safe and efficient administration of the 2024 presidential primary election.

March 5 will be a holiday for students and a virtual School Planning Day for teachers.

As outlined in Regulation 4421, School Planning Days are directed by school-based administrators to devote time to school improvement efforts, such as collaboration around data, common assessments, and responsive instruction.

Central offices and school offices will remain open. SACC will remain open, as it is on other professional work days.
