Principal's Message
Dear Franklin Sherman Elementary School Community,
This week Mr. Ralston and I started a new tradition of celebrating students for being kind to one another as we dressed up in our panda onesies. Staff have been asked each month to nominate students who have gone above and beyond to show kindness and we joined each grade level's morning meetings to deliver certificates this past Friday and today.
As a school, we want to make sure to nurture a culture of kindness and empathy among our students and staff. From classroom discussions and read-alouds, to interactive projects and service opportunities, we aim to inspire our young learners to embrace kindness as a way of life.
We encourage you to join us in this journey by engaging in conversations about kindness at home and reinforcing the values of empathy and compassion with your children. Random Acts of Kindness at Home
Whether it is a simple act of kindness toward a classmate, a heartfelt note of appreciation, or a thoughtful gesture toward a neighbor, every action, no matter how small, contributes to creating a more compassionate and inclusive community. Together, we play a crucial role in shaping the values and character of the next generation.
Thank you for your partnership in this work and I look forward to seeing more community members this week at the principal’s coffee Feb. 29 9:30-10.

Students will be able to browse and shop during school hours. Friday, March 2nd will be for browsing and Monday-Friday for purchasing.
Tuesday, March 5th, is a student holiday but the book fair will be open all day for your convenience. Families are welcome to come make their purchases all day, from 8:30 to 4.
Also, as we did in the past, we will keep the book fair open for Family Night on Thursday, March 7th from the end of the school day until 6:00 p.m.
As usual you are welcome to send in cash or check for payment with your child. But if you are going to use an electronic payment system, we recommend that you set up an e-wallet in advance.

Stuart Gibbs, the author of the Bestselling series Spy School is coming to Franklin Sherman on March 7, 2024. He is a very prolific writer and his style is described as “fun and fast-paced”.
Gibbs is hugely appealing to our youth. He has several other series published such as The Fun Jungle , Once Upon a Tim, The Last Musketeer, The Moon Base Alpha and The Charlie Thorne Series. In that same week, his third graphic novel, Evil Spy School, will be released.
Students will be able to preorder these and have them autographed by Mr. Gibbs when he is here. Please look for more information coming soon with details for pre-purchasing his books.
In the meantime, please encourage your children to read as many of his books as they can. Also, have them visit his official website to learn more about him. They can prepare their questions and put them in the envelope provided to them in the classroom.
As we get closer to the event, we will share more information as needed.
