Last Friday was our annual Bingo Night and Ice Cream Social. Families enjoyed ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery and many prizes for kids and adults. Mr. Mills graciously returned to be our Bingo caller. You can share pictures to our Facebook page and for our website (webmaster@forestvillepta.org). Thank you to our chairs, Lauren Hertling and Arati Mahna for organizing this program for our school community.

If you like the events and programs the PTA puts together, consider volunteering your time to be on our Executive Committee or to chair an event next year. We are currently seeking volunteers to fill open positions on the PTA Board. If you are interested, please contact the chair of our nominating committee, Sam Cai, at parliamentarian@forestvillepta.org. We will be nominating next year's Executive Committee at our PTA meeting on March 7th.

Yearbook Announcement

We are excited to announce the return of the Forestville yearbook cover contest for 2024! Our theme this year will be "The World is your Playground". All students are invited to submit their entries by February 29th, 2024.

Some guidelines for the artwork:

On 8.5 x 11 unlined white paper
Vertical orientation
Hand drawn original art work only - crayon, markers, colored pencils, etc.
Must include "Forestville Elementary School" and "2023-24"
Try to include school symbols and mottos
Do NOT include your name in the artwork
Only one entry per student
When scanning and sending, please use highest resolution possible

Please scan and email your artwork to the yearbook team at community@forestvillepta.org and include your students name and grade in the email. The artwork itself should not contain the name of the student. Want to participate in other ways? All Forestville students are invited to submit an entry answering the question -

"If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?"

These entries can be submitted by uploading a photo of your child using eShare and adding their answer under the description. (Answers may be edited for brevity). These submissions are due by April 1st, 2024.

congrats to our Science Olympiad winners

The Forestville Science Olympiad Division B (Grades 5 & 6) team performed very well at the Regionals tournament held at Centreville HS on Saturday, February 10^th. Based on their performance, they have now qualified to advance to State Tournament to be held at UVA on April 6^th.

The Cooper Middle School PTO is looking for volunteers to serve either as a Board member or Executive Committee chair for the 2024-2025 school year. Open Board positions include President, Fundraising, Corresponding Secretary, and Membership. Executive Committee chairs are available for a variety of positions from hospitality to staff appreciation and much more. Whether you have a lot of time to volunteer, or just a few hours periodically to support Cooper Middle School, please contact Christina.Saxon@yahoo.com if you'd like to learn more.
