Happy Friday CES Community,
Welcome to March! It is crazy how fast this POSITIVE school year is flying by.
On Wednesday night, our POSITIVE CES orchestra performed the National Anthem at the George Mason Men’s Basketball game. It truly was a POSITIVE evening for the POSITIVE students, the smiles and looks of pride said everything. Did you know that the CES orchestra was the first, and still the only POSITIVE elementary school string's students to play the National Anthem at a GMU game? This was the 5th time thanks to Mrs. Henry and her leadership! Please click HERE to watch the POSITIVE performance.
In case you missed the POSITIVE news, CES was featured on Fox 5 News last Friday. They spotlighted our POSITIVE trout in the classroom program. Mrs. Settlemyre and our POSITIVE 6th grade students did a POSITIVE job representing CES. Click HERE to watch the POSITIVE video clip.
Thursday, the POSITIVE 4th graders went on a field trip to the Natural History Museum in Washington D.C. They had a POSITIVE time exploring and learning while on the trip.
Today, our POSITIVE students participated in our monthly Green Hour of Power. The POSITIVE Students spent time this month learning about zero waste. Zero waste is a POSITIVE approach to living in which we strive to minimize the waste we generate. It includes everything from the POSITIVE homes we build, to the products we buy, the food we eat, and the way we move through our POSITIVE environment.

We are now accepting Kindergarten registrations!
Students must be 5 years old by September 30, 2024.
If you would like to register your child, you may begin the process by completing the Kindergarten Registration intake form or scan the QR code below:
Kindergarten Orientation will be offered on:
Tuesday, June 4 from 9:30am – 12pm.
The Orientation is for registered families only. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to meet the teachers, take a bus ride, and learn more about the school. Staff will review the curriculum and discuss transition into Kindergarten.
If you know anyone who has a rising kindergartener, please encourage them to begin registration as soon as possible. Notifying our office of your intent to register or complete registration helps our school secure staffing for the upcoming school year.

 Please join Sully District School Board member Seema Dixit and Supervisor Kathy Smith for a joint town hall as they present the proposed FY 2025 Budgets and take your comments. Details of the Fairfax County budget can be found here. If you would like to ask a question regarding the FY25 Budget, please send an email to Sully@FairfaxCounty.gov with "Budget Town Hall" in the subject.
