eSports Starts!

Cedar Lane Community,

ESPORTS has arrived!  Today is the day! eSports will be held as an after-school activity, with a specific focus on camaraderie and unity to foster a positive and supportive community among our students. Students will learn that competitive video gaming requires strategic thinking, teamwork, and even quick reflexes to makes split-second decisions. These skills are invaluable in today's fast-paced and technology-driven world. Just like traditional team sports, our students will need to work together to achieve their goals!

ESports in FCPS began in 2021,  and is part of the Virginia High School League (VHSL), just like football, basketball, volleyball, etc. Cedar Lane is NOT joining eSports as VHSL. We will compete with other schools that are not part of VHSL both in our county and other counties.

It is important to note that we will ensure a safe and controlled environment for our students during eSports sessions. We have implemented regulations and guidelines to protect and provide a positive experience. We have a Phenomenal Coach, Ms. Bobe, who will work closely to ensure the kids are as prepared as possible for competition, monitor activities and ensure that appropriate behavior is maintained.
