Dear CES friends and families:
Recently, our 3rd grade students engaged in a creative learning experience through a research exhibition fair for their peers, staff, and members of school leadership. As you can see above, students embarked on a journey of discovery, immersing themselves in rigorous research on a variety of topics, and practiced their communication and collaboration skills in an authentic real-world setting. With curiosity and determination, students explored their selected topics and gained valuable insights that they were proud to share with peers and adults. Kudos to the 3rd grade team of teachers at CES for facilitating this activity!
As we look forward to next week, please remember that we will not have school on Monday, February 19th, in honor of President's Day.
Additionally, we are so excited that the day has almost arrived for the Family STEAM Night at Columbia ES! Doors open at 6pm, next Thursday night. Join us as you walk through classrooms with exhibits and STEAM activities geared for all ages. The grand finale will be a spectacular science-themed show that gets students excited about STEAM learning! This on stage show in the GYM will bring STEAM activities to life by the eclectic group of amazing edu-tainers from "Mad Science, DC."
We look forward to sharing a memorable evening through a wide-range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math activities with you and your family on Thursday, February 22nd. Please reach out to your student's teacher for more information.
Have a great weekend and I hope to see you next Thursday night at STEAM night!
Take care,
Mike Astudillo
