Dear Wolftrap Families,

Welcome to a new week of learning at Wolftrap! I would like to offer a reminder to you to please read your newsletter from your child’s teacher/teachers. There is a lot of important information, and teachers work hard to make sure you are all informed!

Some breaking news on our new playground! I have received word that Wolftrap is next in the queue and should anticipate groundbreaking in a couple of weeks. I’m scheduled to be at a construction meeting, and I will have more detail for you after that meeting. Please anticipate changes to our recess locations. Teachers will reach out to you to communicate any modifications.

Many thanks to all of you who helped and participated with the talent show. You can see a picture of us getting ready for our next stop on Broadway!

Our best to you,

VIRGINIA KINDNESS WEEK: In honor of Virginia Kindness Week, the VDOE is encouraging schools to promote and celebrate kindness during the week of February 11-17, 2024. The purpose of Virginia Kindness Week is to recognize that simple day-to-day acts of kindness enable our schools, communities, and state to be a kinder, safer, healthier, and more inclusive place to live, work, learn, and play.

Look for information coming from your child’s teacher to see how we are participating!

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mr. Joe McClure is our band teacher at Wolftrap, and he has been teaching here for 9 years out of his 11 in education. As you may know, his work with our band students has been outstanding, keeping the kids playing through our Covid closure. Students played online, and Mr. McClure hosted outside holiday concerts, before we could play at concerts again. He loves the support for the arts at Wolftrap and the Vienna community. Thank you, Mr. McClure!
