Navy Update - 2.11.24

Hello Navy Community,

At Navy, we know that it takes a collective effort from all employees to meet the needs of students. On Friday, Navy students and staff wore yellow to show how much we appreciate our bus drivers, attendants, and transportation staff!

Let's Get Cooking

Students in Ms. Wahab’s class participated in a cooking class to support the development of essential life skills. During this activity, students learned the importance of washing fruits and vegetables, healthy snack options, and kitchen safety. In addition, students strengthened their functional communication skills by naming ingredients and asking for more!

Parachute Supplies Needed

Supplies Needed

In our upcoming POG lessons, Portrait of a Graduate, we are having our 2nd and 3rd grade classes design a parachute that will protect its precious cargo (donut hole 🙂) as it glides to the ground from the top of a firetruck! We will be letting our parachutes fly on March 20, during our STEAM Fair. We are in need of some supplies you may have laying around your homes. There will be a box outside the main office to collect supplies. If you have any of these items to donate it would be greatly appreciated!

Parachute Materials:

  • Coffee filters
  • Tissue paper
  • Plastic Bags
  • Egg cartons
  • Pipe cleaners
  • String/yarn
  • Toilet paper or Paper towel tubes
  • Cardboard that is thin, like cereal box, cracker box, etc.

Girls on the Run is Coming Back!

GOTR

Girls on the Run is coming back for a new season. It will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays before school from 7:30-8:30. If your daughter is in 3rd - 6th grade and is interested, please follow this link to learn more about Girls on the Run and to sign up.

It is important to note registering does not guarantee a slot in the program. At sites with more registered participants than the program allows, Girls on the Run will use a lottery system to select participants at random. Because the program requires a minimum of 8 participants, programs with fewer than 8 participants registering online will be canceled for the season. Your registration will be refunded in full if your participant is not selected during the team confirmation process.

We are excited to offer this program again!
