 Students loved celebrating the 100th day of school this week.
From the Desk of the Principal:
The second phase of the school renovation process has been moving forward very quickly! We are excited to share that after spring break our third grade students who are currently in the modular classrooms will be moving into our newly renovated spaces in our building. In addition, our art and music classrooms will move from the modular and quads back into the main building. We look forward to having everyone back together again!
There will be some additional shifts when we begin the third phase of our renovation, in April. This will include some adjustments to the location of our main office, which will change how students and visitors enter the building. We may alter the arrival and dismissal locations slightly, however, this will not change until after spring break. We will provide more details in March as we get closer to the transition.
We are fortunate that despite the construction and renovation work, we are still able to hold many upcoming PTA events this spring, including: Skate Night, STEAM fair, Pizza Bingo, and the LA 5K. We hope you and your family are able to join us for these fun, family events! Look for additional details coming from the PTA soon. In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful springlike weather in February!

Preparing for Winter Weather
Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather-related closing decisions are made. FCPS’ website is generally the first place to find out about emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated. Be sure to plan for the winter season.
2-Hour Delayed Opening Procedures
If there is a two-hour delayed school opening, students can begin to come into the building starting at 11am. The late bell rings at 11:15am. We do not have supervision prior to 11am, so you may not drop off your child before this time, as they will be unattended. Please consider your options for this situation in advance, as we may encounter this during the winter months.
