Chantilly Academy Program Highlights

Exciting Field Trips for AFJROTC and PT/OT

Our Chantilly Academy students took advantage of some very cool field trip opportunities to further their learning in their fields of study.  Air Force JROTC students took a trip to the 167th Airlift Wing in Martinsburg, WV where they heard from Airmen who shared their experiences in the service and had the unique opportunity to take a ride on a C-17.  Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy students visited NVCC’s Medical Education Campus where they participated in an anatomy lesson in the cadaver lab, toured the PT and OT labs, and spent time in the medical simulation lab.

Lunar New Year will be celebrated on February 10th and our Korean students spent time this week learning about how this important holiday is celebrated in Korea.  Students tasted Tteokguk (rice cake soup) and played Yut Nori, a traditional Korean board game.

After months of body work, Auto Collision instructor Mr. Byrne guides students when laying paint down on a vintage 1988 Fox Body Ford Mustang.  We can’t wait to see the end result!

These Medical Assistant students were spotted wearing their scrubs on Friday to celebrate CTE Month.  Don’t forget to wear something to represent your Academy program every Friday in February - you may win a prize!

Our STEM Engineering students had an opportunity to explore and try out a variety of tools in the lab this week.

Many of our Health and Medical Sciences courses completed their CPR unit this week.

February is CTE Month!  Join us in celebrating our Career and Technical Education students, staff, and programs throughout the month.  Students are encouraged to dress in something that represents their program every Friday in February (class or CTSO t-shirt, uniform, scrubs, etc).  Be sure to follow us on Instagram @chantillystemacademy to learn more about our CTE programs and see what’s happening in our classrooms!
