Happy Friday CES Community,
Happy Lunar New Year to our POSITIVE CES families that celebrate! Lunar New Year is a celebration of community and the arrival of spring and the beginning of a POSITIVE new year on the lunisolar calendar, which begins on Feb 10, 2024 this year. Wishing you health and prosperity in the POSITIVE New Year!
The Family Literacy Glow Night was a POSITIVE success! Thank you to all of the POSITIVE students and families who attended this POSITIVE community event. If you missed it, the gym was transformed into a POSITIVE glowing literacy wonderland. It was truly magical to see the POSITIVE CES community come together to celebrate literacy! Our next POSITIVE community event will be the Family Folk Dance on Tuesday. We are POSITIVELY optimistic that it will be another POSITIVE success.
Thursday was the POSITIVE 100th Day of school! Thank you to our kindergarteners for the POSITIVE pictorial representations of the number 100. They have definitely added some POSITIVE color, fun, and beauty to the hallways. It truly was a POSITIVE day of celebration!
Food services has some POSITIVE changes that are worth checking out. Please refer to the Food and Nutrition Newsletter for more information.

We are now accepting Kindergarten registrations!
Students must be 5 years old by September 30, 2024.
If you would like to register your child, you may begin the process by completing the Kindergarten Registration intake form or scan the QR code below:
Kindergarten Orientation will be offered on:
Tuesday, June 4 from 9:30am – 12pm.
The Orientation is for registered families only. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to meet the teachers, take a bus ride, and learn more about the school. Staff will review the curriculum and discuss transition into Kindergarten.
If you know anyone who has a rising kindergartener, please encourage them to begin registration as soon as possible. Notifying our office of your intent to register or complete registration helps our school secure staffing for the upcoming school year.

SPRING SEL Screener
The Spring Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener will be administered to students in grades 3-6 between February 26-March 15. Students use the SEL Screener twice a year to share their perspectives on how well their school and community help them develop skills they need to succeed. The screener works by asking questions or presenting statements that students can think about and respond to. More information is available about the SEL Screener by accessing this link:
